OK...Let me tell you a story about piracy.
I know a guy who is a pirate. Not like an "Arrr...where's me bottle of rum" pirate. A video pirate. For a long time he mad his living copying VHS tapes of TV shows and movies for people.
He would advertise in the Newsgroups and post lists, but any big series or big blockbuster BS movie he'd put in "And others. Requests taken".
Sometimes he would get an email requesting he destroy the copy he was using and not do it anymore. So he would write back with an "OK" and he would just delete whatever the offending movie was from the list, and offer it as a request.
But he was never sued, or arrested, or anything else.
I think this is just a big fear campaign, myself. It's like Valve and Steam saying they are going to contact your ISP and sue you and all that nonsense for using a pirated copy of HL2. That won't happen.
The number 1 way to control people is fear. Make them believe they will lose their life or their livelihood and the response is Pavlovian. That's all that this RIAA/MPAA bullshit is.
