I created a little T-Shirt shop at Spreadshirt, just to show you how easy it is.
You can find it here: *snip*
Note: The white box around the dead donkey logo is not transferred to the T-Shirt. It's just how it is displayed. There is no commission on the T-Shirt either. If you feel like I violate the copyright of the dead donkey logo, please tell me and I'm going to remove the shirt.

Maybe you should take a look at the back side of the T-Shirt than. That is, if you still have the link.

I have the only prototype on my keys; its a real exclusive item
I'll see if i can get some shit together and email some more companies, i doubt it will get much further than before but i'll definitely take a print out to some tshirt printers and see what they say about quality.

OK, it has been a while, and most of that time the info was on my HDD, but here it is:
Code: | Prices for printing on polyester or cotton Nr 1 color 2 colors 3 colors 4 colors 5 colors
1 - 25 3,00 3,75 4,50 5,25 6,00 26 - 50 2,00 2,30 2,60 2,90 3,20 51 -250 1,80 2,00 2,20 2,40 2,60
|
Nr = number of T-shirts. Prices are in Euros.
High quality!

5 colours? The logo has more colours than that.

Well, it goes up to 12 colours, but there are only prices for the largest amount of T-shirts (51-250):
6 colors 2,80
7 colors 3,00
8 colors 3,20
9 colors 3,40
10 colors 3,60
11 colors 3,80
12 colors 4,00

Black doesn't count as a colour. When I check out the donkey, I see about 10 colours, maybe 11.
If there are more than 12 colours like you say, a technique can be used in which two colours overlap each other, forming a "new" colour. This is mostly done with shades, like on the left side of the donkey's ear.
Also, but maybe I'm offending peope now, this is not a design in which you would really miss one or two colours. Of course then it will be a bit simplified, but it won't become ugly.

12 colors are you serious?
Photoshop tells me there are 51 colors (including black) in that picture.
According to your price list that would result in 39,75 € for a single T-Shirt (if you order only one). That's not cheap.

Hehe, I wonder if it's even possible to print 51 colours. I think Photoshop is very very picky in distinguishing different shades of colours. Could you post the list of names of the colours? I'm very curious what it says
I'm still convinced that we can make a print with 10 colours that is good enough for a T-shirt.

I would like to, but that damn imageshack doesn't work. I upload an image and see it in the overview, but when I select my images it is not there. I'll try it tomorrow.

All of a sudden the images are there.
This is the color palette with the 51 colors in Photoshop. I can't post the names, because these are not standard web colors. What names did you want?
http://images.yeuxverts.net/ does not work for me.

I was just curious what names Photoshop came up with Nothing important.
When I look at that palette I see many possibilities for "merging" colours, thus making it possible to print. Honestly, I have never seen a T-shirt with so many colours as in your palette. I doubt if they even exist.

The bigger version (552x698 pixels) of the logo has even more colors. More than 256. If you index them to 10 it looks ugly.
Do you want to use the small or the big logo?

I've just ordered some items from café press for an unrelated website and i'm impressed with the quality. They do however have a more simple logo.
I was wondering what were reasonable prices for merchandise?
Basically the way it works is they charge a fee for the base shirt and they keep 100% of that, then you add on a fee on top of that which goes to the site.
They unfortunately don't do a, add your own markup on the shirts, ie. the shop just have everything at the base rates then the customer decides how much they want to donate. Which is a shame
