Piracy is a pretty large problem in Asian countries I think. I'm not sure how it compares to the US (I'm a Brit) but in places like Malaysia you can buy all sorts of pirate movies over there, new releases and older things. I have a friend who goes quite often he says there are just vendors with carts in the streets. I think over here piracy is a problem but it's more linked to people downloading instead of buying.

Also, God-Damn I thought Jackie spoke better english than that.

The spot, which cost about $190,000 to produce, was shot September 16 on the Universal lot in Los Angeles
..
Chiat broacast director Richard O’Neill and producer Marshall Rawlings of Alturas Films reached out all over Hollywood to recruit an estimated $350,000 in volunteer help to finish the spot.

What a collosal waste of money, it makes me physically ill to think about it.

let me guess, reported crime only? the statistics seem to suggest a totally disproportionate amount of law enforcement spent on anti-piracy?
I'm sure piracy is huge, but i don't trust the accuracy of the other stats particularly.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the piracy they talk about here ie. profit from work, barring artificially high priced locations, then its at least understandable.
