Code:
With more than one million users, the largest waiter eDonkey/eMule of the world, Razorback, east was gone this morning in the hands of the Belgian federal police force. Two of its administrators remain injoignables per hour when we write these lines.

We have only very few information. The whole of the waiters of Razorback were seized this morning towards 10H by the Belgian federal police force. Although Razorback association domiciled in Switzerland, it is in Belgium that the system main part was installed. Razorback did not lodge any illegal contents and even took part very actively in the diffusion of legal contents such as those of our chain of remote loading of software or the free musics of Jamendo.

The waiter used for eMule and eDonkey was nevertheless an index of million files exchanged on the networks peer-to-peer, including one great part were illicit. The principal administrator of Razorback had indicated in the past that it was ready with blacklister the files brought back to him by the holders of royalties, but it never had any answer. Finally the whole of the material was seized this morning, indicates a source close to Razorback to us, while two administrators of the waiter remain injoignables at this beginning of afternoon.

Razorback tried to reconcile legality and P2P while taking part in many legal projects, by providing the stastic invaluable ones for the cabinets of marketing, and by diffusing paying files protected by DRM, for the account of content providers.

But especially, the disappearance of Razorback will not change absolutely anything for the million users eMule, who profit already since from very many months of a network entirely decentralized baptized "Kad".

Whereas many Net surfers worry as for the data seized by the Belgian authorities with the Razorback waiter, we had the assurance which no personal data was stored there.

With a million users and tens of million exchanged files, Razorback could not technically have held a log of connections with the unit of IP addresses of the users. All the data necessary to the correct operation of Razorback were stored in read-write memory, and were thus lost during the seizure. It is what a source close to Razorback ensures us.

In addition one of the administrators of the French-speaking waiter eDonkey could be contacted in the course of the day. One only of both east seems it kept at sight.

Direct result of this seizure, the invaluable assistance that brought Razorback to the legal diffusion of files on Jamendo, on Ratiatum, but also the assistance brought to the human research project of the genome Folding@home, are finished today.

With regard to the remote loadings of freewares and sharewares on Ratiatum, we will be extremely grateful near our readers who will agree to ensure the changing by dividing their band-width with us. It is enough to have a customer eDonkey or emulates and to return to you on this page to download and put in division automatically all the updates of the week in progress.

We hope the return of Razorback sincerely, because it was of all the waiters that which preached more the use of the P2P at legal purposes, and concretely helped us in this way.

Via Ratiatum

babelfished by the sounds of it.

yep, always got the latest client, and yes,I am connected to a server(I do know how it works by now  )
but no,for some reason a serversearch doesn't work with me for now, have even tried rebooting just in case(not that it'll kill me,I always manage to find my stuff through kad as well, but I was simply wondering if anyone has had this over the last few days

I'm on a donkeyserver since razorback went down, so theoretically search should work...but not for now

What is a server search good for? I only use it when I want to search for porn.

you got the seversearch port open?

Try open UDP 4665 for 4661 port servers:

for example to look for rare movies that aren't posted on a forum

and yes Spud I know of all the port stuff,in fact I use this old PC for downloading only(ed2k,torrent,mirc,ftp,the lot...) & I haven't even installed a firewall or router on it to make things easy  (I don't care what happens to it since it's an old machine)

I still get the same good speeds on my emule as before(connected to donkeyserver, high id,kad connected ,etc...)all works fine exept I can only do a kad search (as of yesterday)

very strange indeed

folks always talk bout fakes when you say you use the search on your client.I can honestly say that I haven't had a single fake(when doing a search) since I started using the mule(& I search a lot)

it has happened once or twice that the film I got was in a different language but that's it.But hey that's prolly something I learned while using Winmx ages ago,to triple check (& more) every file you queue

razorback 2's back up today, anyone know how secure its likely to be,I heard rumours any of the razorbacks higher than 2 where fakes to log your IP and shares..

this is where I read about the plus 2 ones being fake.
http://www.razorback2.com/news/94?bewar ... ck+servers

just seems a touch suspect getting closed down one day,and back up as strong as ever the next.

Well I've been using Kad alone since yesterday. Anyone noticed that theNomad's Razorback link doesn't work? Makes the new Razorback look highly suspicious.

Same here - using KAD alone since yesterday's news. Slower to get going with sources and searches through KAD only, but no other noticeable difference.
