But that's not what I'm talking about, I've only just discovered we've got over 5000 members here 
I thought it was WAY less than that, would be nice if a few more people posted once in a while, even if just to say hello, or thanks for the rip. |

I did a graph a while back lemme see if I can find it - that's REALLY shocking (although a little out of date now) Found it :

garandou at fh has lent me a very nice script that will do some stats like this, i posted to pca about this... i don't think even i'm a big enough 'prick' (  ) to scare away that many people.
Then again my hobbies do include nerve chiseling and sweeping generalisations

There's 775 users who haven't verified their accounts (never clicked verify in the verification email) Random stats for a random month: 35387 unique visitors 69789 visits 505139 pages 2364041 hits Not surprisingly, torrent seems to be the number one search term these days. |

I thought it would be worse than that old graph, I wasn't expecting it to be THAT bad though. Personally I'd delete at least those that haven't validated their accounts, my guess is they are bogus email addresses that didn't want to sign up when they realised they have to verify. |

yes maybe it's not wise to mass-delete. what about splitting the "0 posts" slice like this: "0 posts, last post 1 month ago" "0 posts, last post 6 months ago" "0 posts, last post 1 year ago" "0 posts, last post 10+ years ago" or something like that. (dunno if it's feasible) EDIT: what the fuck am i talking about? |

Here a more serious reply (who actually would want the nick ohgodnotanotherone'?): Better delete depending on last visits. If I knew that I would be deleted after x month without post, I'd be tempted to write a cron job, which posts a 'ping' from time to time automatically. At least I'd hardly post something usable. <- Ohgodnotanotherone: No! And not posting is not necessarily a sign of being a leech. |

Why not email them all in a scary Jehova-type of way like : "We noticed you haven't been visiting us lately  ""We feel this as a great loss" "We would like to deepen our relationship with you though" "Perhaps life has led you astray, lost on path that goes nowhere" "We would like to be the star that will light your path to salvation " "Please do join us again" "If you however wish no further contact with us then please click on the supplied link that will close account" "This message will be send every 2 weeks until revisit or cancellation "... That should have most of them hammer the "unregister" hyperlink 
Also you may dispose of my 3rd "Wargand" accunt. A worthless character play anyway

Not a bad idea, this with the email. You could delete all accounts with invalid emails. Btw. I reconsidered, the "Wargand" play isn't actually that bad. I think it will be the only one I will use in the future. Please delete my other accunts.
