Post subject: | I'm making a new site |
Hey guys. How are you all doing? I've got alot of time on my hands down here in Australia, so I've started creating a little movie webpage myself, with info, ed2k links and some small anecdotes about the movies. I just wanted to inform people about some lesser known gems which not that many people know about. You guys here have probably seen all of them though, so I would be very happy if you could give me some creative imput. http://www.hblok.net/~shane.hblok.net/Movies.htm I'm not posting this just to get trafic on my site, but I would honestly like to hear your opinions, and maybe get a few pointers? I know I'm not very good at webdesign, so I'm not even trying to make it look professional... what I would like imput on are the things I've written there... maybe get some corrections and such? Any help greatly appreciated. Hope all of you are still having an awesome time! Cya! |

Hey JD. One quick thing I noticed. Donkey Kong at the bottom you have as Monkey Kong. |

looks good man. hey where in Oz are you visiting? I'm from Oz. If you're into sport, make sure you check out an AFL (Aussie Rules Football) game while your here. My team Geelong just won the NAB pre-season cup - so check them out if you want to see a good team ![]() |

John_Doe, well my comments are about design rather than content. Dunno about anyone else but scrolling down the page almost gives me an epileptic fit and i can't look at the screen (now especially because i've been drinking too much today). I find it hard to concentrate on the foreground information because of the bright background. Consider centering the crystal ball background and setting it to none repeating, putting your information on a singular coloured background, or redesigning the colour scheme. ![]() |

ok spud, will do. tnx. Damn this webdesigning thing is a lot of work!! hehe. and yeah, I'll turn the monkey into a donkey as well.. =) h8sh8, Right now I'm up in Cairns, but this place is so totally bisarre that I'm really looking foreward to leave it on wednesday. People are totally crazy up here! As in totally loony wacko insane! I can't believe some of the experiences I've had up here.. bah. I'm going down to melborune again now, and hope I'll have some fun there again. Then I'm heading over to Tasmania to do some dj'ing on a festival there, and help out a group of hippies do some tree hugging and save the forrest from the mean people who want to cut it all down. Really looking foreward to that. Not interested in any sports in the least, so I probably wont be checking out the football.. Sorry bro. No offence, but it just bores me. |

hi JD how you doing? you can use CSS to beautify your tables. here you can find some out-of-the-box ready-to-use css examples: http://icant.co.uk/csstablegallery/index.php?css=68 (click on the "Design name" column to see the css applied to the page itself) |

You have a fine taste of films Eating Raoul & Harold & Maude are two of my alltime faves, I'd love a more dedicated ed2k arthouse site, theres the awesome divxclassico but hard to navigate sometimes with it not being english good luck anyhow more choice is allways a good thing. |

Good start i would say. A lot of things could be changed. Depends on how far you wanna go into it. For starters i personally wouldn't use that font (times roman?) I would go for tahoma or something like that. I reads a lot better and it also look a lot clearer/cleaner. Cheers |

Has potential my friend, but lots to do indeed. You need more content, but you know this anyways, and as for the colour scheme, I am afraid I am somewhat colour blind my friend. |

tnx for all the nice words guys. Yeah, I know there's still loads and loads of stuff to do. It's my pet project of sorts I guess. Damn, I would like to use those CSS thingys, but it looks a little complicated for my simple little mind. I'll give it a go though... Thanks. Will try out different fonts as well. tnx again. =) PS: Spud, yeah, thought about using some kind of navigational menu, but haven't really decided on how to do it yet. Maybe sepparate each genre into a file, or something...? |

![]() erm you just add:
to the <head></head> section. I think those ones just replace all the default table tags, otherwise you give it a class name td.spoonman then when you use <td you put <td class="spoonman". And that's pretty much css. |
