Sharing on emule is rather easy.
1) step one get emule. I'd say go for a mod if your going to release something. Signing up to the forums @ emule-project.net gets you the emule mod forum. From there i'd suggest morphXT as a mod.
2) fire up emule, set your connection and tweak your options. Make sure everything is okay (green arrows on the bottom right of the screen with the globe). Go into options and setup some shared directories with your movies your going to release in (your avi files)
3) Go to your shared tab, and find your file. If its not there, hit reload and wait a while for it to hash (it might say hashing xyz at the bottom of your screen). It will then appear.
4) Right click on the share and go to "Powershare>Enabled" and "Priority>Release", or similar. This will mean people will penetrate your queue and get you this one file.
That's getting it shared, the next thing is to actually let people know what it is, where to get it and what quality it is.
Make a topic in the right section, with the title:
Movie Name (YEAR)
You can find the year of release @ imdb.com. Also include the imdb link, that clarifies exactly what the movie up.
Next up is specs, i use a program called "avi2clipboard" for specs, but gspot also works well.
Including screenshots is also a good idea, i use a program called Nandub for this. You go to edit>Copy frame to clipboard and then paste it into a paint application, ie psp. You can dump images at imageshack.us
Compile all this info into a thread, add plot synopsis and a poster if you want, and then your all done.
Just need to leave emule on until people get it complete and you've uploaded several GBs.
If your wanting to know how to rip, there's many, many different ways. There are guides at
http://www.doom9.org that will tell you how to get from a DVD to a nice Xvid. I also took some time last year to write a small (*smirk*) piece on common mistakes and things to avoid:

That cover everything?
