Post subject:  Nick Thief????

I was looking at the amount of full sources for a movie I'm downloading in my Emule, when... I saw my very own nick followed of some strange chars ( [|,w7] ) and having almost all of the file :o

I sent a message to see if it showed in my Emule and that way check if there was some problem with Emule but no message poped up... then I compared hashes and yes! they were diffrent and in the propierties of that client (from another country of course) emule displayed a message: "Nick Thief"

Is he stealing my hard earned credits? :eatthis:
How can I kick the shit of this bastard?

As always... Any help would be appreciated :beerchug:

Yeah, that seems to happen a lot, and probably nothing you can do about it. But he ain't stealing your credits cause you are the one that's doing the uploading. So that's nothing to worry about.

About how you can kick the shit out of him, my guess is use you;re legs and put your back into it :wacky: :beerchug:

I think they attempt to leech community tags and what not, since its likely you boost the same community that's in your nick. That and get some of the fallout from mistaken identity.

In the end though, credits are based on your userhash. There's leech mods that attempt to steal that but they are widely blocked.

Thanks Spud!!!

Now I have it more clear ;)

As Pure said I'm uploading and I'm getting credit for it because they can't have my true emule identity.

As you said my userhash is unique and they can't have it :D

Thanks for your answer!!!
