Hi

I'm a total newbie here. I used to do bittorrent a few years ago on a site called CrazyMazeys's house of Horror but have been out of the P2P game for ages (no time/computer).

I'm really struggling with all the Emule stuff. Don't seem to be able to get anything down apart from subtitles! Not realy sure how it all works but I'm sure I'll work it out eventually.

Anyways I'm interested in Italian horror/gialli mainly. I study film and am bout to start a Phd on gialli called "The giallo: The Sublbime and the Beautiful". I hope to be able to able to get some gems here and engage in some good banter/debate about cinema.

Really glad I found this site

Nip

emule is a client for the ed2k network which is the forebarer for bit torrent. Whilst it is slower, and based upon different concepts.torrrent is based on tiny chunlks whilst emule is based on 8mb chunks. Ultimately this means that emule takes a while for downloads to get going. The best thing you can do is leave your emule client running 24/7, emule needs time to get going. Whilst torrent maybe quicker, there are improvemetns over torrent. Its truely p2p and the retention of content is much higher than torrent is capable of.

Overall I side with emule.

There's a few members here from crazymazey's. The site was established well before CM, so there'll probably be a few familiar faces.

We got tons of gialli here! BIG Giallo Collection

For BT you may already know these: Zaerc's Tracker3, Cinema Obscura, and the Horror Charnel; all of which have decent stuff.

Best points for eMule:

Connect to KAD and the Servers, KAD should say 'Open' and the Servers should say "High ID'. All that means is behind a router and your ports are fowarded (like BT).

Stay connected for a long time with lots of files queued up; and if you have any cool horror movies from BT, sharing (seeding) them on eMule will get your downloads going, because you will be sharing a full file. The best would be porn movie (people like it and will 'ask' your client for it). Point is, once you upload some MBs, your downloads will start.

Keep rare files shared for a long time, and manage their priorities and your upload speed limit.

We have lots of small releases on this site, so help sharing is much appreciated. Plus they are great films ;) :beerchug:
