I just spend the last nine days in Italy. Five in beautiful Florence and the last four in the capital, Rome. I visited the Profondo Rosso store, which contains a very famous Dario Argento museum of horror in the basement. The store is run by a very friendly chap called Luigi Cozzi of Contamination fame. I uploaded some photos if you are interested, please take a look. So now I am back in rainy, dull, England, but at least I am online again.

It's very cool as Luigi does all the commentary, but I don't know what Darth Vader is doing there.

The Profondo Rosso store looks cool, but I bet all DVDs were in Italian, which is too bad. Or did they sell English stuff too?

The horror museum looks pretty fake to me (fake as in: then not being the real items used in the movie). I'm very curious if some maybe are anyway.

I think some Italian and some English, but they are a little expensive. The Italian Medusa Stendhal Syndrome was 19 Euros. I bought the Italian/English Medusa dvd of Nonhosonno for 10 Euros in Florence. There are plenty of books written by Cozzi in both English and Italian. The Argentos, Fulcis and Bavas, are all under the glass counter.

I know what you mean. I think some were used but the others look like crude mock-ups.

I have always wanted to visit Rome. Julius Caesar keeps texting me because he wants a rematch to our nude wrestling competition. He really is a bad loser you know.

LOL you went to Rome and bought the US flag?!?!?!?

Like us Brits that go abroad, complain it is not the same and then search out a British themed pub and eat fry ups.

Indeed, it is a great British tradition.

Kinda like when Americans go abroad and keep saying everything is fucking 'quaint'. How annoying is it to see those fat, middle aged Americans with those stupid shirts and baseball caps taking pictures of everything that is over 40 years old cos it has 'history', maybe they should try getting some of their own?

Yep, that oughta get em running here in droves to hassle me.

If my plan succeeds then expect a large jump in membership numbers Spud.

Can I have my fiver now?

Dutch people know how to act stupid abroad as well. Some take bags full of potatoes with them, or jars with peanut butter, because they don't like the food in the country they're going to. I think it's kinda sick to go on vacation with all your neighbors, park all the caravans side by side on the same camping every year and enjoy the same food as at home. For me, it's only relocating your street instead of gouing on vacation. Still, there are hundreds of people who do this year after year after year.

I was surprised at the abundance of American tourists in Italy.

Like I said, Europe has history, the US does not.
