Post subject:  How to ask to up the priority in any language
This needs to be a sticky.
Theres many releases with very limited sources & anyone using a mod with an ip to country filter can see where these people are.
What would be cool is a list of what to pm these people in each specific language so that we can all request to these people to increase the priority or request a friendslot.

For argentina:

I'm Q'd on an italian for a rare post where hes the only source & something along these lines would be greatly appreciated. (Hopefully he wont expect a full blown chat coz then I'd be bang in trouble lol)

I'd like to, but all the interesting stuff is forbidden. :wink:

But really, you could send me 1000 messages and I would not see even one. I start my mldonkey, and once or twice a week I look which files are completed. I don't even look anymore who is connected. But then, edonkey is only my secondary protocol, usually I get all I want from bittorrent.

Looks like I have to get into the spam business. For such nice words you should get a few thousand ketamine messages per second. Of course with some random texts to make automatic filtering difficult. Just wait, might two or three days till I modified my client for you. :P

Use the spam filter to block out all the annoying messages like us sensible :? people do. I've spoken to loads of people from this forum through messages on emule.
@Wargand.. have you ever watched a TV show called Harry Enfield & Chums? you remind me a lot of the old gits lol :googley:

What for? Since the time I started using edonkey I got perhaps half a dozen messages, which where not spam. It is just not worth the effort.

Not to me. At least not when I still checked the messages, which is a long time ago.

Btw, I am using mldonkey. This program is has a separate 'server', which handles the edonkey protocol and a gui client, which connects to this server and provides the user interface. When the gui client is not connected, which is not very often the case, all messages are going to /dev/null.

wargand, your making out a one line copy and paste of spam keywords is like someone ripping off your balls. :lol:

You say it doesn't warrant your time, but you've posted four times in this thread which is more than copying and pasting would probably take unless your control and c and control and v keys are located on different continents and you need to hire some staff to syncronize key presses :googley:

Just saying, by making four replies you've already spent four times more effort than fixing most of the problem, and lots of people do respond to the messages when they see them; that's a fact since they have done when I've sent them and I have done when i have received one.

spudthedestroyer, maybe. But as I said, as long as my gui client is not connected, I don't receive messages at all. The server does no queue them for a possibly somewhere in future connecting client. So even if I would be willing to handle the spam, it would be useless.

When I was new to edonkey I checked my downloads + messages every five minutes, cared about leechers, wrote even my own leecher block scripts. Now I am an old user and simply don't care anymore. My mldonkey server runs on my gateway machine 24/7 and every few days I check the download. Thats all.
