I was never under the impression that it was bad, or rather filesharing wasn't. ![]() People that go to the extent of filesharing generally are part of that consumer category. Going out and attacking people that buy the material, that talk about the movies and do more than advertising ever could is just insane. |

Its a double edged blade really. I think people, who appreciate a product, will go out and buy it. I do. But knobhead execs have taken advantage of this by pushing out alot of inferior quality products. Typical example, i tried to buy a dvd for family, only one i could find was at full price. Fair enough, i got it, and now every time we watch it we have to sit through about 3 movie previews that cannot be skipped before we even get to the menu. No wonder people pirate and, remaster stuff. Serves them right if you ask me. |

Agree that previews that can't be skipped are bad.. But imagine 2 minutes of anti piracy talk and copyright stuff that can't be skipped. Not only do you get the original but also the extra added brein stuff. So you are warned twice not to copy it illegally. And to put the cream on top, they add a VERY irritating music in it. And you have to watch it again and again every time you want to watch the movie. So whenever you are in the mood for a film it gets shot to shibberee by this crap ![]() |

You wouldn't steal a car! (Can't drive) You wouldn't steal a handbag! (Not a girly) You wouldn't steal a TV! (Got one) You wouldn't steal a DVD! (With all the security around stores, no way) Downloading pirate movies is stealing! (Oh, come now…) Stealing is against the law! (SOME stealing is against the law — the rest of it is state-sanctioned or committed by very, very rich people — which is perfectly alright) Poor quality remakes/films directed by Michael Bay/anything starring Nic Cage/Joel Schumacher/threequels reduce your viewing pleasure and jeopardise future film production. Spending $200million on making a crap movie is a crime — do not accept it. Demand decent movies from your video store. Thank you for listening. |

Hits the nail right in the head. If I DL a movie and I really like it, then I will go buy it. Hell, my girlfriend dropped $57 on the Blade Runner set (complete with case!) because THAT is a great movie. But most of the movies fall into the category of 'I just spent time that I can't get back'. ![]() So kudos to that director who understands the power of 'good word' advertising. |

I read in the newspaper a few days ago that DVD sales in The Netherlands had gone up in 2007. Actually, 2007 was the best year for selling DVDs ever. So who is gonna boss me about for downloading? Would I have bought crappy DVDs such as Psycho Santa if I didn't know I could harass you guys with it by sharing/uploading it? Would I have spent several hundreds to get as many video nasties on DVD as I can get if I had not downloaded them all first? Man, this world is full of stupid people. Stupid people with tons of money who are afraid to lose a penny and stupid people who listen to them. |

"in The Netherlands, it remains uniquely and ambiguously legal to download, but not upload, copyrighted material" http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/21/itun ... -to-china/ I did not know this… So, my conscience is clear(er). |

Hehe, we have the best liberties in the world! Still have to work on ythe upload thing, though. Actually, BREIN is not hunting uploading individuals, it is hunting servers. Easier for them, safe for us. |

Woohoo! I really love Holland… And yet you say DVD sales are up? What can it be with this country? It seems like the more crazy shit you're allowed to do here, the more likely people are to moderate themselves. Least, that's the way it seems to a baffled Irishman. Cool, says I. ![]() |
