i wouldn't say were particularly old elchu, that's playstation generation stuff. In a similar vein, your probably reaching for Clock Tower though. its a Crapcom game (or is now), of the survival horror genre. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clock_Tower_%28series%29 Not in an asylum but the idea is your seeking the help of a psychiatrist... there's a bit of lovercraftian in the series. More so than RE, silent hill and other modern franchises. Unfortunately since crapcom took over they've not ported to the pc. In their usual lazy style. |

Hey just remembered one I loved to play. One of the games I actually finished. It's called "Realms of the haunting". Its' rather old (i think even older than Resident Evil) and it runs under DOS. ![]() It is a 3-D shooter-like scary game with nice video sequences in between. The story is about a war between good and evil. Not particularly original but its atmosphere is great. ![]() And yeah there is Stonekeep. That just brings up some great memories. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonekeep |

Silent Hill 1 had a section in an abandoned hospital with zombie nurses in it IIRC. Might have been 2 but its been a long time since I played either of those. ![]() |

Ever try Fatal Frame? Or Manhunt? |

Manhunt? Thats about some dude on death row whos allowed to live as long as he's willing to murder people whilst being filmed, I don't think that quite fits the description ![]() Never heard of fatal frame though ![]() |

Maybe its manhunt 2 that deals with a hospital at some point. The Fatal frame games dont deal with hospitals either but they are pretty cool. Also for some of you out there theres a survival horror game called countdown vampires for the original Playstation where instead of killing zombies you killed vampires with a anti vampire serum and you got to run around a horror based hotel/casino. Pretty cool actually! |

Sanitarium is an old adventure game released for pc in 1998, still worth a try today. The game begins in a...well, take a guess. For more info: http://www.mobygames.com/game/sanitarium |

Yeah, Sanitarium's a gem. I'm playing through it again at the moment and it's a little dated but still worth a go. There's an old adventure game called Harvester that's worth a go if you can find it. Very weird, nice and gory too. |

Here are some adventure games from the 90s which have a pretty scary atmosphere. Only problem might be to get them to work within windows. - Veil of Darksness (isometric vampire adventure) - Elvira 1 (3D RPG) - Elvira 2 (3D RPG) - Waxworks (3D RPG) |
