you need vob sub.

then match the avi file name to the srt, sub, smi file name then put the files in the same folder and or on disc &
zoom and bs player will play them automatically.

no need to try and load them unless its srt and you r wanting to adsjust font size. jusy install vob sub and make sure the file names match exactly up intill the file extension of course

I can't understand why you couldn't play sub files with koala. never had a problem with it myself. Have you checked that the sub files aren't messed up? Or that they might have a wrong extension? (ie: named movie.sub when it should actaully be movie.srt or something)

d0c!

What i always do because idx/sub suck BIGTIME for me is load em into vobsub and then save/convert them to any other sub format (txt, srt, smi etc) and then have no trouble playing them at all!!!

Give that a try, get rid of the sub/idx file and you'll get rid of your problem

to be honest i prefer idx/.rar by far. Then again I've had no trouble playing subs, using zoomplayer.

i see submux.exe and subresync.exe in the vobsub folder, the only thing that can convert any subs is subsync.exe.... but u gotta type in every bloody word letter by letter, this take ages... if there are other converters out there plz let me know... ok

you don't have to type in every word. just every letter. once you've typed all the letters used, it'll complete converting. don't take that long.

Yep, no matter what program you use to convert subs you have to lead it through the first instance of any letter/nember etc.

But, to be honest I prefer it becuase it means there be no mistakes in any words half way through the film, and I bet you've spent ALOT more time trying to find a player to work then it takes to convert sub format to a better one

Did it work for you d0c?

I think it should have.

Subtitles are a dodgey area, I had many problems with my ACF releases and converting subs

contains timing information (when it starts), formatting of the subs, etc.

Try it d0c, it only takes a few minutes. I just converted Los Sin Nombre's subs (idx/sub format) to an srt using VobSub because of the same problem you had. Just type in each character when prompted and add. Easy! The end result works fine in BSPlayer.
