I don't know much, but here's what I've learned:

1 - There are no shortage of rare movies playing on satellite.
2 - Even badly encoded satrips look better than high quality VHSRips.
3 - A shmuck like me can learn how to make a decent rip.

I haven't been watching the BT side, but I have been following what's being released in the English speaking ed2k communities. I rarely see anyone making satrips. Is it me, or does this seem bizarre? Why hasn't every single VHS rip been retired by now? Weird....

Anyhow, I'm looking to put a team together to tackle this task. We need:

1 - Fellow satellite / digital cable rippers. Not much equipment needed (S-Video capture device, PC, high speed internet) and I'll teach you everything I know. It won't take long.

2 - People who have time. Monitoring tv listings and cross referencing online to see what rips are needed is a lengthy process. Anyone who would volunteer for that job would be a great asset and would be considered an equal on the team.

3 - Anyone with assets that help this team in ways I haven't thought of.

# 2 could be achieved using a cell phone with on-screen internet. It just involves keeping an eye out on different schedules and alerting me to a movie that should be ripped.

The researchers would keep an eye various websites of the networks I have access to for their schedules. If I could get enough volunteers, it would be 1 or 2 channels per person. Basically an alert system - you'd probably be shocked by all the stuff I've missed.

What about my suggestion? Do not ignore your master, answer at once!

Oh and btw, I very much doubt anything could shock us now. Most of us are pretty screwy and desensitized.

Not ignoring you sir. You can hand out anything you wish as long as they are not laced with something poisonous

I don't expect to get any volunteers, but had to ask anyhow.

The problem you might have is that most of the people here who can, already do.

Oh and I might add lemon and lime slices if their is enough demand :wink:

I've always planned for hosted blogs under dead-donkey which allows linking/etc, but its trying to find the time to get something implemented... and this host has turned rather sour.

Looking for reposting outside hhah, shah, sbig, fh, stf, sv, phantomp2p, and ed2k4ever,

at sites like shareforce, sharesoulp2p, findhash, and fsj. The bigger the download swarm, the faster everyone downloads. Whatever anyone can do to help spread the word, is appreciated. Just let me know what site you'd like to handle to avoid double posting.
