STR has disbanded.

There may be some more releases, but the group is as of now, finished :(

        It's been an enjoyable ride, but regrettably STR is no more. :(
              
       Don't expect any showbiz-style revelations of artistic differences  
       or massive ego clashes, it's simply got to a point where members
       can't devote the time or energy they once could. In recent months
       the twitching corpse has been kept active almost solely by the 
       efforts of DxaKrator, for which we're all truly grateful. You may
       see the last of the backlog trickle through over the coming months,
       but once they're gone, we're gone too.

       So we'd like to bow out and say our collective thankyous to all the
       other rippers and groups making ed2k the single best place for
       sharing, without bringing the petty back-biting and one-upmanship
       that seems to make such a mess of "The Scene". Of course, there'd
       be no point releasing movies without the downloaders, so thanks to
       you all; for downloading, for sharing, for keeping the files alive.
       
       Finally, thanks to Spud, who has not only provided resources and
       advice, but also been the thorn in our side that made us strive for 
       improvement.
 
       Peace & Love to all our friends, past present and future.

Thanks for the rips, advice and friendship, it's sad news but quite understandable, I'm in the same boat myself. I never knew johnathome or karstmobile were STR members, you learn something new every day.

Ok...so at this point I have a few choices to choose from-
1. Continue as I did before I joined STR and that is releasing under my old tag DxaRip
2. Start a new group
3. Join an Existing group
4. Say fuck it and just retire from ripping

#1 is probably what is going to happen at least temporarily. I would like to form a new group or join an existing one idealy since the whole group thing was a pretty positive experience for me :) #4 is not beyond the realm of possiblity either....I've been doing this shit for a long time now (to long some might say :lol: )

Well happily we aren't going out with a whimper, we are going out with a bang :D Be prepared for the final 13 releases from STR within the next day or two...those that liked our stuff before won't be disapointed...It's a horror block so it is fitting we do that as our final pack here at HHAH :D

Finally, I would just like to publicly thank the other guys in STR...especially PC_A and Visceral who founded the group...You've put up with my tantrums and numerous other bullshit through the years and that isn't an easy thing to do...It's been an honour working with you all and I will always look back with my years at STR with a smile. :beerchug:

I'd like to add my thanks along with DXA's. All the STR guys have been great and we've had a fair amount to deal with over the years!

STR isn't so much a ripping group as a group of friends who ripped and released stuff together, the ripping may well have stopped, but all of STR are my friends and it's been a pleasure to count you all as such :)

Damn, I feel a small pang of regret that I could not devote the required time to STR. It was fun while it lasted, and despite my contributions being microscopic I like to think I made a small difference.

Some, most?, of us are still here though.

Fuck, it is a sad feeling indeed. No idea why as I had not been involved for a while.

All things must pass I suppose, it was indeed a good ride while it lasted. :rock: :drunk:

On a sidenote, this place is one of the few places I frequent often online, and it is solely because of al you guys. :prat:
