I'm pretty sure shipman should be number 1 or 2; mainly because the others are sketchy and speculative. Never heard of Pedro López; however the top too are wild guesses based on a testimony rather than confirmation or confession.

For shipman, aach and everyone one of those 215 were unfortunately confirmed murders (i don't know where 250 came from), there were countless others he refused to confess to, and scores of deaths that happened in his years as a doctor.

I think Green River Killer holds the record if I am not wrong here--48 known victims, 5 he is suspected highly of and probably a lot more that they don't know about--most investigators think it could be in the hundreds....

What do you mean? That old prick Shipman had 215, and another score are 'unknown'.

In all honesty, I think someone will probably have killed many, many more people than any of these throughout history. Its distrubing but someone has probably gotten away with a lot, and no one has been none the wiser.

Police work and methodology has become more sophisticated so more and more killers will be revealed, but this no more shows a increasing trend than it does reveal the scope and scale of what's always transpired.
