Hi guys. I am going to make this short. I need some (maybe 20) people to answer a few question for a survey. I am asking here, because you all have a computer and it's somewhat hardware related. I hope you can help me. Please look at the questions below and if you can answer them (DON'T GOOGLE for anything!!) please post your replies to each (perhaps numbered like the questions). So here are the questions of the survey:1. Do you own a tv tuner card? If "yes", who manufactured it, what is it's name and how satisfied are you with it? 2. What companies do you know that manufacture tv tuner cards? 3. Would you prefer an external or internal (built-in) type of tv tuner card? 4. Please order the following properties of tv tuner cards according to the importance for you: (price / design / image quality / image resolution / number of plugs) 5. How much would you spend on a tv tuner card with the following features: external, HD suited, hardware codec with lossless compression, all modern plugging capabilities? 50 - 100 $ / 100 - 150 $ / above 150 $ Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks for it in advance! PS: The most important thing is to answer the questions honestly. Take your time.

What's a TV tuner card? Such a card you can watch TV on your comp? If so, my answers are as follows: 1) No 2) None 3) Neither 4) All equally unimportant (I don't wish to have/buy/receive one) 5) Nothing I really, really love my flatscreen 81" TV.

1. Yes I do. Made by some company called dazzle. Fuck knows what chipset or any of that shit it uses. I only really use it watch some shit in a small window in corner of screen.
2. Could not come up with anything other than what the others have stated.
3. Honestly do not care. I suppose internal would be better in some regards, but tbh plugging in a usb stick is hardly rocket science or time consuming.
4. price, image quality, image resolution, number of plugs, design. Design is an easy last as I am not that kind of guy, looks mean shit.
5. $100 - 150 would be my sort of price range, but I am what you might call thrifty.

i1 thru 5, (becaouse im baked) 've used tuner cards, quite extensively. owned maybe 12 different kinds on a few different computers over the last errr, 10(?)or so years.
i'd go for an ATI -ALL IN WONDER- card if it's the first time you're buying a tuner card. that's the kind i stared with, and occasionally still use.
(i dont know what your specific use is for a tuner card, my main use was to cap tv and vhs(you need a macrovision stripper), ATI worked great with the level/cpu of computer and had some decent interface and control/program access that i didn't get in some of the otheres cards like nvidia and diamond.)
ATI is the 'starter' version of graphics cards. I don't know about anyone else, but i've never had any problems with them.

1) No. 2) Don't know any. 3) Not bothered either way. 4) Don't want/need one, so none are important. 5) I'd spend my money on something else.
PS: I had one in my old machine, but I couldn't tell you anything about it other than it never got used.
