I ran this by Spud and he said that it sounded pretty cool...
We all vote on a movie (availability and the ammount of people who have the movie are things that will be taken into consideration)
We then go buck wild and let eachother share and download from one another.
This would mean faster speeds and harder to find movies would be made available to us.
Do you all think that this is a good idea?

I'd say this would be pretty complicated.

pick a share, everyone shares it on release and gets it spread I think he means. I'm fine doing that as long as its something I have and I'm not doing a release

No good for me. I'm always trying to spread my own stuff, so that gets the release priority.
I suppose I could stick a movie of the week on 'High' or something.
The other thing is, it'd probably just create a long thread where everyone votes for a different movie.

Sounds good for the downloaders but for the releasers it could get a bit murky.I am happy with the way things are now,if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Use BHv4.
Otherwise, we can keep an updated list on peoples IPs that suck!
I like the idea, but need dedicated sharers with Work access of 5 Mbit lines at least for this to keep files shared.

It's a good "suggestion", but won't work really, with the time it takes to spread files on ed2k etc etc. I'm still sharing Jungle Holocaust, Pranks & Terror Train.
So it's not really feesible for the "releasers" to be told that they will have an extra file to set on release every week to the ones they are currently pushing
Although, some sort of poll or perhaps good film/link you may have missed would be a good idea.
For instance John_Doe has posted a film in the dvd rip section that he reccomends and I would never in a million tyears have come accross/watched it.
So have clicked it and hopefully will enjoy!

paul, there's no 'told' that I picked up on. I think the suggestion is that instead of everyone pushing different files, if you have the bandwidth free and aren't sharing, then maybe everyone could concentrate on the 'movie of the week'. Then again if you don't have the movie of the week

ah i never imply anything when i post on forums
told/asked/informed it's all the same meaning to me.
I just wanted to say that a movie of the week idea is a good one, but getting the file powershared is the hard/awkward part
No offense meant
To be honest if i had a film of the week file, I would set it to release, really if other people were making an effort to help spread.

hehe,
step 2, we get on irc and simutaneously heckle the film. at that point, gentlemen, we will go beyond nerdhood- into the black socks and sandaled footsteps of Geekhood.
ah, im just bitter from some of my lifetime bans from other forums that did the same sort of thing. still, a movie of the week would be interesting, though now that i think about it i have misinterpreted the thread completely, i think this is just about spreading a file, whilst i was thinking something along the lines of a group bitchslap review.
