Hey,I know some of you are European and I am wondering about this.Apperently on Xmas Santa is accompanied by a guy called Black Peter in Europe.Who the hell is this guy and why does he tag along after santa?Has anyoen actually seen him?He seems like he is the devil doing santas bidding...We don't celebrate that in the states so I was wondering who the hell has engaged in this bizzare custom?Besides Satan/santa :P I guess the little bastard steals children...Thinking on this I guess the U.S. does have a version..he is called JACKO

Man it's just nonsense reproducing on nonsense -
Black peter is the right hand (leftist propaganda lately calls it slave, since it's always a negro) of Saint nikolaas or niklause or something.....it's the dutch santa

So it's more a racial thing then?I did sort of get that feeling from it but wasn't quite sure...just seemed the black thing was equated to evil. Not sure why it never caught on in the states but this certainly the most ridiculous post I have made all night so feel free to delete it..I don't want others to get the wrong impression here and start thinking I am a racist or anything...it's not me..it's the drugs I am perscribed.

The tradition is that St. Nokolas comes on the 3rd December (I think) and gives presents. But they're not the kind of presents you get from santa. You get something based on your behavior. I remember I had cursed alot, so I got Salo soap to wash my mouth... Someone who was always tired got vitamins... kind of smart-ass..

Now Black Peter follows along and he's the one who punishes the ones who's been bad. He has a branch which he gently whips the kids with, and a big sack which he carries the nastier ones away with him in. All the littlest kids are terrified by him.

St. Nikolas was a real person and this is the original legend which Santa Clause is based on.

"Apparantly" and "Europe" is bound to be wrong everytime.

Its like someone starting a thread "Apparantly in America...". Hardly ever correct :D
