now now, he could just be on holiday or something. All that's been posted is what was posted by a frontpage member (badm) at fileheaven, that being that Simon Moon hasn't been contacted (which seems to be wrong) and that SR is closed indefinitely. Beyond that, anything everyone says is unjustified as of yet. However, if your conspiracy theorist, yes I don't think any of the money donated as been spent on SR forums as stated it would be. Maybe it's just down for retuning 
I wish some of that 8k made it this way though, could build our own ultra server for that 
Regardless no one knows, and they are hell bent on not letting us know for whatever reason. People have always ragged on SR, just like often its members have ragged on other sites. Anyways, I'm sure if whenever possible that one of the frontpage members will let everyone know, Maxaiqa, Badm, whoever. i heard monkeysmasher aka 'sarah douglas' aka 'Dr Nunien Ng' aka 'Fluffy Buttermints' crashed the site, and turned into a federal protection witness program thru interpol and the Democratic Order of Planets, foretelling one of the signs of the appocalypse, where biblical rains of frogs and toads and assorted amphibians will errrr, reign. eh, i liked sharereactor though i dont visit it much. sometimes sites have problems, it happens. no reason to start suspecting foul business, greed. i am usually the first to suspect and yell conspiracy, so dont go jumping the gun. though, i would probably take 10,000 to sell out my site. hell, i'd take 5$, or a bucket of chicken wings, a handjob, a hobo hat, maybe some matching socks, flying bycycle, a spellchecker, midget trapeeze artists, the list goes on. |

I gotta say that as time has gone on SR became more and more shit, and this was solely due to the speed of the site, or rather lack of it. Eventually I moved onto FH and bittorrent to replace what I used to get from SR. BTW, I think I saw someone seeding a Paul Scream file over at crazymazeys, how dare they do this without paying us all 1000 quid royalties each. internal memo to Spud, how about you slow the site down to a crawl and then ask for donations, then when we have a few grand we split the cash and leggit? A plan or what matey? No-one would know we were being dishonest, the rest of the suckers would just think the netKKKops got us. |

i have been using the site since spring 2001. and except for the loading times i thought it the best ed2k-site i knew. so, i won't start to pull simon moon to pieces until it's certain that he fucked the users and just gave up on sharereactor... |

I don't hate Simon Moon, I think that what he did (i.e asking for money all the time for a site that provides nothing more than links that IT'S USERS provide, for illegal content I may add) is out of order though. I've released a fair amount of stuff @ SR (as have a lot of the people who post here) and if it comes back, will continue to post my releases there. I'd also like to see the evidence that ANY money was spent on a new server, when asked about it Simon Moon was very coy and refused to provide any proof that ANYthing had been purchased, did you notice a speed increase for the $8000+ ?? If anything it was worse than ever when it closed. |

you have a point there. the site really didn't get much faster, if at all. and i have to admit that i don't know what kind of hardware is necessary to provide fast speeds on a site like SR. it's just that i need some proof that there was some foul play.

I dont hate simon moon, I never actually knew who he was until all the shit hit the fan. I felt asking for cash for a somewhat dubious site was also wrong, after all, it was the users who ultimately made SR, and it is they who will make any other site. I am just messing around, I have no idea about the internal politics in play at SR, and I also do not give a fuck. In the end it was just a site, albeit a fuckin awesome one, for obtaining links to steal stuff, shit like that comes and goes. The only gripe I ever had was the speed, it was always slow, and it just got worse, even after 10K was raised. As for what the cash was spent on, who knows, but that is one fuckin long time to set up a server, so the question will be was it even real, or just a cover story? If it is real and they are having genuine issues then fair does, slap em for not letting anyone know, but they will get over it. If he has done a runner, then I hope he burns in hell with the rest of the scum, he had a community going that was unstoppable, and he would have ruined it for a bit of cash. Time will tell, but me personally, I always look on the bad side, makes me better prepared when the shit hits the fan.

well this seems 2 b a hot topic!! personally have been using SR for a coupla years or so now (was the 1st ed2k hash site i stumbled upon) and have had sum great stuff from there. was a great site at 1 point but as the donkey network became more popular it kinda ground 2 a halt. 4 those ov U who say there was no improvement in speed, wot U talkin bout!? at one point i couldnt access the site at all 4 ova 2 weeks due 2 heavy traffik, surely waiting 30 seconds 4 a page 2 load was a serious improvement!!! havent used it so much since i found HHAH and have been using FH for more mainstream stuff 4 quite a while. but it is the only site that comprehensively covered console (read PS2) games:( not sure what is goin on really so spose will just have 2 wait and C. if it is gone 4eva it WILL B missed. it it comes back, great!! oh and 2 those who slaggin off bout the donatins THAT IS WHAT THEY WERE, DONATIONS!! no1 was forced 2 give and i sure that what was given could B missed else woldnt have been given AND HOW MUCH HAVE PPL SAVED WITH THE DOWNLOADS FROM SR NEWAY? my tuppence worth
