Just learned my ISP doubled my upstream from 256 kbit to 512 kbit for free. This means lower upload is procentual higher leeching: Great ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok, just kidding. ![]() |

NTL shitty :-o You been at the drugs again mate!!! Just because when you ring NTL's customer support asking about increased upstream on your upload and they say : "Whats upload?" Doesn't make them a shitty ISP ![]() Good news for you though wargand Tak tried blackmailing his UK IP into increased upload and they wouldn't have it ![]() |

SBC Yahoo freakin blows. God knows what download is (well over 100), but the max upload it can handle without zapping my bandwith is 16. ![]() |

My dad's ISP just increased both down/up with 256kB/s a month ago or so ![]() ![]() My ISP though, will never even think about doing the same. I don't have any choice though. I bought a house on the country, now I have to deal with my shit-piss 756/128kb/s connection. it's stable though. |

Altho my plan did not succeed, I did get cheaper connection for a while. The good thing about NTHell and SmellyWaste is that they tend to copycat each other to stay ahead, so when one caves in and increase upstream, so will the other. As far as I can tell from the tech support NG's ppl have pretty much given up asking for more upstream on all packages, we have now started to concentrate on trying to get more packages that are more flexible, ie. doing 2 different 3 meg services, one with 256 up and one with 512 up at a slightly higher price. Me personally, I am prolly gonna drop down to 1.5 meg soon, 3 meg is useless with only fookin 256 up, mule never gets that high downloads anyway, and I do not use BT enuff to warrant paying 3 meg all the time. I have told my ISP I would pay what I do now for 1.5meg with 512 up, but they have a shitty attitude about the whole thing, they pretty much tell me I do not need more upstream for browsing the web, duh, I know that LOL The problem is, they know for a fact that without P2P BB is pretty much pointless anyway, most webpages arrive at pretty much the same speed with 512 or 3 meg, and TBH it is getting harder to find servers for downloads that can handle 3 meg speeds, lately I have been averaging around the 2 to 2.5 meg speed, so the only option I have is to try to get simultaneous downloads going otherwise I feel cheated LOL I hate paying for shit and not getting the full usage outta it LOL |

Sounds like me. For a while, I used eMule and IRC at the same time, to try and max out dls. Finally, I just got pissed. There's a reason I don't use IRC. I have to mamage the downloads and my time is worth money. So, now, its just the Mule. I can stand a little lost bandwidth. |

IRC is intolerable for me, thats why I think Bit Torrent is a suitable replacement, stuff filters there fast and you download it fast before it dries up. Emule is the basis of any internet doing though imo ![]() |
