OK it's in windows media format - sorry! And I don't personally have a mac and only once in my life had to deal with one, and that was when my GF was doing a masters and all they had in the computer lab was macs, but I didn't like them at all from that 1 experience. But windows is no better ![]() But anyway, I just thought this was very good video clip. Download even if you don't have a mac, it's worth it ![]() mac.wmv |

Well being a 'fan boy' I wanted to check it out but even my shitty work PC won't let me run this WMV. LOL, I could have played this on my mac too because mplayer can play WMV files!! Well I'll try it when I get home. Sadly though, my Mac died recently ![]() I got lent a PC laptop for a while to keep running emule (the switch to Neomule made mlDonkey look like it was connecting on dial-up), but I'm gonna get another Mac soon hopefully when this one gets checked out... |

Sounds like your in the PC wars their Krug, try and watch this clip and give us your opinion ![]() You could easily do the exact same clip for the windows OS, but I don't have any experience of MAC so wondered how true the thinks in the clip are ![]() |

I too would like to know how true/accurate this shit is. Only had limited experience really, and not liked it, nothing in particular, it was just, er, different. The newest version of the pear OS is sposed to be the best yet tho aint it? Have heard some good things about it lately. |

hehee.. joking of course. =) I only meant that whenever any company comes out with a new version, there's always claims that it's the "Best version yet" |

I watched the clip, and yeah it's about 50% true, 50% exaggeration. Working on a Mac or a PC, both are frustrating as hell and are good and bad in different ways. I can't remember all the things the guy was going on about but if you want to know if one is true or not, just ask. It was a cool video anyway, but I agree with paul-scream, you could just as easily do this video about a PC. |

lol. That parody was great ![]() True you could make it for any system, but it doesn't have the arrogance of those apple adverts so probably wouldn't work as well... although I'd love to see someone do a IBM one, you know like those quirky IBM adverts you get with the it technicians and all the IBM corporate strategies. This post was submitted *sigh* on a pc ![]() ps. I've found the best way to get the most out of pcs is mod windows to act and feel like none of the current vanilla brands to be honest. Make it your own and you can only fault it when a program doesn't work as advertised (ie. craply built installers, etc.). Doesn't give the speed of linux of course, but its a least a joy to use ![]() Don't worry people I'm learning C...soon I will rule you universe.
Soon.... ![]() |

Actually OSX is quite the snappy little beast being built over Linux and all. It's also not the ram whore Xp Pro is even with the unneeded services disabled. Apple finally got it right - true protected memory - not the half assed MS implementation, full distributed system oriented multitasking, OS level async multiprocessor support (widh MS would get a clue and build MP support in at the OS level), a fully multithreaded OS. The list goes on too. I'd honestly like to be able to install Linux or OSX on my PC, unfortunately OSX is hardware specific, Linux has virtually no support for gaming which is my PC's primary function, and Windows well it's bloated like a chick at that time of the month. |

i thought OSX was a unix hybrid, not linux? |

Unix Linux not much difference save for copyright. Sun's Solaris is a Unix hybrid. OSX may very well be Unix based. At least Apple dropped Pro-DOS. ![]() |

oh contrare, I thought Linux was an entirely different system? A new kernal infact, and integration of the GNU applications to form one big package, forming GNU Linux. Unix on the other hand is just barebones. Linux is based upon, but quite different, and its core is reprogrammed. It just works on the same barebones. Which is why Linux and Mac OSX are quite different but have an 'unplaced' similarity between em ![]() All this comes from OS Revloutions or whatever that documentry was called which was quite a decent watch ![]() ![]() |

Too bad anyone who uses Linux is the target of a lawsuit, whcih seems to be frivolous as it's not even gone to trial yet. I believe Yahoo was the last victim, or maybe it was Google since their servers are all Linux based. Too bad neither Linux or Unix are supported very well on the home users side. With a nice GUI Shell (some are out there now) and driver support plus software support it would be a decent, if not preferrable alternative to Microsoft's Windows bloatware. Lets face it, the only reason Windows goes unchallenged is because the home software and business software everyone uses is primarily for Windows. And hardware vendors save for niche markets don't support any variety of Unix. Shame really. |
