I'd have thought everyone would have read tat like this before... its just as stupid as all that moon landing and JFK bollocks people make up for whatever pleasure they get out of it.

It's just a tad sad they have to drag other people into it though. I've always founnd it really baffling that people are compelled to 'disprove' the most shocking and disturbing parts of history, like the NF nutcases that deny the holocaust happened, or the people that say kennedy was shot by several gunmen... and just as odd, one of the biggest, infact the historical acheivement of the 20th Century, the moon landings were faked. It's just bizarre, its like they have no confidence in themselves or in anything around them :( I kinda feel sorry for the poor guys.

It's not like, say the bible, we're the roles are reversed.. instead of trying the damnest to disprove something with absolutely nothing to go on, it seems the other way round in that case  Trying to prove something from nothing :)

ps. no offence to any xtians but if I find it a little hard to take something roughly translated from a cryptic ancient language, in an ancient book, by people that had little or no scientific understanding of anything, as the truth :) Especially when its told 100th hand, by someone who is taking what someone else has said as the truth, finding meaning in that, and then portraying that as what was written originally.

Maybe its a faith thing

I hear you, but there are some strange and macabe tales to this story that does have me thinking.

I am not in no way a follower if all these conspiracy tales but this one has me thinking and it's a horrible thought to the end of disgusting.

Bush and his administration are lier's and he is a evil man and this is True! and if you look at how he thinks and see his pattens then read these conspriacy tales about 9/11 you will start thinking.

:-o

Its just a matter of what you're willing to believe, Spud. You don't believe in the Bible, but you believe in the good intentions of the American government. That's fair. You're entitled to your opinion. I prefer to keep an open doubt on both.

Firstly, what's all that crap about good intentions? ;) I don't have a clue where that came from, certainly from nothing I've ever said or posted ever, so I guess its come from your subconscious noggin'. Either way, best not to make presumptions in such a way else we have ourselves a heated political debate based on something that was never said, thought or referred to :)

Anyway, my response may have been to the 'open mind', something I always criticise, I don't think its applicable to such an instance as say, something that can't really be proved either way. I guess its a reaction to people saying 'you have to have an open mind to xyz' as an arguement for something, or in lots of cases to give it any credibility. That should instantly put up all the warning flags, you can have an open mind and even still be confident and very much on one side of an arguement.

In this case, sure keep an 'open mind', but don't be stupid would be my advice

Back to this 9/11 stuff, these conspiracy tales seem pretty stupid and get more and more obscure and implausable in so far that I see no relation to the wacky stories which makes dubya a liar and an 'evil man' (btw, evil is a christian thing). Of course he lies, distorted/exploited what happened totally and is a tosser, but that's proven either way by fact and observation, not wacky stories :)

All this belief and open mind talk I believe ( :) ) gives this stuff a lot more credit than is due here though, don't you think? Such terms should be reserved to something where there's at least an equal weighting of 'evidence' on both sides of the arguement, for example, do you beleive in god? do you believe in aliens? etc. Here its more like is this arguement valid/justified, but I wouldn't use belief from my own personally dictionary, its too heavy a word to use I'd say, just like I don't think its was used 'properally' where I highlighted in italic, I used it in an expressive way, but I'd personally reserve it for something that's impossible to prove*. :)

Out of interest and slightly off topic, does anyone actually believe a) these JFK conspiracy stories b) aliens crashed in roswell c) the holocaust never happened d) Bush's administation orchastrated 911 (had a direct involvement etc.) e) the moon landings never happened f) in bigfoot ? Would like to know peoples opinions on those, either way or don't know. Call it intellectual curiousity if you like :)

ps. on my comments on 'the bible' I was off on a tangent of course, but was trying to comment on the lack of researching first hand, and accepting someone else's word on 'faith'. The 'faith' in what someone has told you is very different to faith in a/the god(s), but its strange how they are classified as the same thing these days.

*I am aware some people probably take such things as a matter of belief, as in 'I believe that story about 911', they are of course right to use it that way if they wish.

btw, I guess I talked more of the 'planned and orchastrated' more than 'preventable'.

It was quite clearly preventable in so far that a phone call and several missles would have taken them down. But then when the limit in the factors of communication, awareness of threats, awareness of intentions of the pilots, etc. the opinion is balanced and then you should eventually be clear on what your view is. Reading the articles though, some things are implausable, some are obvious, and the other isn't supported by anything but makes sense only if a) the 'fact' being linked to is taken as the truth b) the 'fact' linked from is been taken as the truth c) the two facts being linked between are related. So in essence what you have is a point that really does come down to belief, and then an assumption piece linking to another point that once again genuinely is a matter of belief. This makes a twisted opinion, and an infactual piece (if it was a scientific report I'd expect it to be laughed down). Just scan through objectively and you can pick them out anyway.

If whats said there is indeed true (as far as I know it could be( and the guy that sat there and thought it all up guessed his story correctly, then that's a very impressive cover up they did there perhaps the greatest 'achievment' a government has ever done.

There's a great quote I heard on the scifi channel about conspiracy theories, etc. but I can't remember what it is. If i remember it I'll post it.

a) these JFK conspiracy stories
Yes, I believe that more than one person was involved. Oswald may have been a shooter, but he was not the only one. Beyond that, who knows? The government makes themselves a target of suspicion by the way they deal with it. Too many other lies to cover up, maybe.
b) aliens crashed in roswell
I don't know, but, again, the government makes themselves a target of suspicion by standing behind a blatanat lie. The son of the guy who was at the site says he brought home material that was definitely not a weather balloon (as the man worked with them) and later told his family to never talk about it again. I can't say yes or no.
c) the holocaust never happened
Umm, no. I thknk you're grouping the conspiracy cranks in with the racist cranks a little too much.
d) Bush's administation orchastrated 911 (had a direct involvement etc.)
I lvoe to toy with this theory. It has so many merits and they all stem from Bush/Cheney. The preisdent is always corrupt, that's a given, but Bush is far worse. They are not all oil barons who benefit directly by declaring war on others. Only he and cheney are. In the end, I need to see way more evidence before I can believe it. But, remember, Hitler said something like the bigger the lie, the more people are likely to believe it.
e) the moon landings never happened
No. I believe that man landed on the moon. I wonder sometimes when faced with the questions, but onlly because it is Cold War era USA, after all.
f) in bigfoot ?
I don't think I can answer this. If I say no, I could hurt the local tourist industry.

Can I post an ED-k link here Spud? or should I do a new post in the other release section?

That is If you will even allow this type of film doc. even listed in the fourms.
