Sorry folks my net is down @home ( like my STB died) but didnt realise until 20:30 last nite and when i tried to call nthell to say service is fukt i got recording stating this dept is closed @20:00 and will reopen @08:00!! what sort of service is that!!! but gets even worse as when i got into work this morn & tried to report it as a fault/dead STB those f*ckers @NTL won't do anything if i not by the box!! so the way things are goin might not get it sorted until sometime next week

What exactly is it doing (or not doing)? P.N, if you can, get NTL to replace it with a dedicated CM, argue the toss with em until they do. NTL aren't THAT bad anymore, or at least if you treat them the way I do they'll bend to your will 
Just moan and threaten them to leave to go to BT/SKY and they'll accede to your demands. |

well my internet connection dropped while i was at work yesterday (tv was fine) and when i got home i reset the STB as usually required (BIG MISTAKE THIS TIME) but when it came up again there was still no net AND the tv had gone as well  just displaying an err msg stating that i currently have no channels and that i should check cables and reset the box!!! which i have done numerous times. but unfortunately i then tried to call NTL only to get recorded msgs stating the office is closed until the morn. but i had to leave to get to work b4 they were open again  if i dont get home in time 2nite could be amusing (not!) as i might not be in a position to 'be in front of the box' until sometime next week. i already gave them the spiel that i very unhappy bout the situation and thinking of cancelling/wanna be put thru 2 complaints etc but got me nowhere fast. will be patient tho and call this evening if i back in time. then the shit will hit the fan!!!!
I have worked out that STB's are good for about 8 months fautless work and then all seems to go miserably wrong |

I've had this exact same problem with mine on 2 occasions. Both times it's been fixed by removing and then replacing the pin card. Don't know if you've tried that, but worth a go if not. |

oops forgot to say tried that as well
this is the 3rd (or 4th) STB that has gone that way for me, and as with the others it appears to work smoothly for about 8 months and after that, requires a power cycle to the STB. initially only about once every 3 days then within maybe a month degrades to requiring a bounce several times a day......... |

well the 2nd time this happened the dude was 3 days late
better not be too late tho as i work a 12 hour shift 2nite and the same 2mo so really need 2 get sum sleep during the day!! |
