Now then peeps.

Out of intereest, whats the main reason why the majority of registered users don't rip?

Don't get me wrong there's nothnig wrong with not ripping, and with out requests and people to download then whats the point of ripping.

I just thought would be fun to see what the main reason for not ripping is?

I'm guessing not many people will vote

But the reason I didn't rip untill Sleepaway Camp Trilogy all those years ago was that I thougfht I didn't have the goods and foolishly thought that everything was all ready released by the scene etc etc.
How nieve I was :roll:

But those were the early days :wink:

And HHAH has so many rippers that I think alot of people actually do rip!

Everything i buy on dvd seems to be ripped and available already.
Would rip/release daily if i just found something you people didn't already have :wink:

This is the problem for me. Since my last drive died, I'm having to make do with a tiny 10gig drive.
Thankfully, this will be resolved this weekend and the ripping will commence

A few words on DVDs in Poland:

You can always order something from Amazon. Though I hate the fact that even the international sellers on Amazon don't ship to Poland, and neither do most of the international online shops. It could be cheaper if it was possible to order used stuff. Besides, it's expensive for us, especially when you add shipping costs.

On the other hand, most of those DVDs are still cheaper ordered from, say, UK, than those released in Poland, not mentioning the fact that we usually have cut versions with no extras (I don't know why, but for our distributors adding a trailer to a DVD is the only idea for "additional material"). Plus very often the subs are just turned on and can't be turned off. And the commentary track is traditionally replaced with the so called "Polish dubbing" (when one person reads all the dialogues and you can still hear the original speech, which, honestly, I still prefer over the "normal" dubbing). And these are mostly mainstream movies, we don't have the kind of shit that, for example, Dxa usually rips.

Hey, but I didn't say I was against it. If I can stil hear the original voices, that's ok with me. Of course I prefer subtitles as far as movie translation goes, but the "Polish" half-dubbing is closer to them than the "German" full one.

With the full dubbing dubbing, I just hate these artificial voiced not synchronised with lips movement. I can't understand how they are even able to watch this stuff. In Poland there are a few channels that are trying to do this (I mean, real dubbing into Polish language), but for me this crap is not watchable. Unless the creators of the movie decide otherwise, I want the characters to speak French, if they are French. If they come from Ohio, I'd like them to speak like folks from Ohio. I just can't stand it when a man from Texas starts speaking Polish, still trying to imitate the American accent or something as silly as this. For me, this is just interference into the movie, so basically if it's dubbed, it's not the same movie.

Putting this another way: When I pay to see a mmovie, I pay to see the actors playing their roles, dialogue being the vital part here. I don't want their voices to be replaced. Period.

I odn't rip cause I think everyone's got the stuff i've got to offer. I would if uI had some kool stuff that ppl requested but yeah. Aside from that im completely dense when it comes to that stuff so i wouldn't know where to start.

The majority of your rips are hardly A-Class great.
To be honest and I think everyone hear will agree, that most of your rips look like they have come from old VHS tapes and at very best - poorly mastered DVD's. There i said it.
