Is one of the best horror movies ever made if I'm remembering its rep correctly. I haven't seen it, but it was pretty high up in SFX 'best horror' list.

Lord of the Flies is a good book, and at least you get a decent enough movie to boot.

Don't Look Now was shown on BBC2 recently, I'd never seen it before but it is a classic.

I quite likes the original Lord of the Flies. Interesting movie indeed. I haven't seen Don't look now.

I didn't like 'Don't look now' at all. Can't believe where all the fame comes from.
Lord of the Flies is pretty decent, but not good enough to pay for IMO.

I have to see Don't Look Now.. now. Rated 7.5/10 on imdb (which hates horror), supposed to have some love/sex scenes that are supposed to be pretty cool, and possibly best of all the League of Gentlemen references to this series:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069995/board/nest/10262298

Quote:
The entire third series has this crazy extended homage to this film, including an old woman being lured to her death by a bright red carrier bag, a man spilling water on a picture making a red stain spread...and a remarkably similar denoument. Hilarious.

I've posted this elsewhere on LoG board but there is another reference to the film in series 3 episode 6 ... but i wil explain it below in case you missed it.

SPOILERS

Reenie, the old lady from the charity shop is in Keith Drops house and she sees what looks like a little girl crying in the corner (just like DOnald Sutherland in DLN) so she approaches it with similar dialogue to the movie. The figure turns round and its Simba (Rusty Goffe), Papa Lazarous dwarf sidekick who then says "I can't believe you fell for that one!"

I knew that scene was a piss take, but not the entire series of paroding it :o Doesn't surprise me though, since League of Gentlemen is just that to a tee... there's even the weirdness from Charlie Chaplin's autobiography about the torso baby :o

that's definitely one of the best movies I've ever seen... don't ask me why, though

the funny thing about it is you either love it or wondering "wtf is in it people love that much"
