Yes. They are going to increase speeds, so what is now 640/160 ADSL will become 1024/256, but the download will be limited to... 5 GB! Don't you think there's a slight disproportion between the speed and the monthly limit? According to their statistics, the majority of users never goes beyond this threshold, the minority that does being "only" 35%, so "it won't affect normal browsing". Heck, I don't need my connection for browsing (well, not only)! If I wanted it for browsing, 128/64 would suffice. But 1024 with 5 GB, lol, this limit can be reached within a day. Tjis only proves those guys really don't know what they're doing.

Hopefully it's only for the new users, otherwise I'm totally fucked. Where I live there is no other provider (that's Poland, folks...). My contract ends around January, so I'll have a chance to find out soon...

CRAP!

5gb a month??!!

NTL had a simillar brilliant idea, 1.5gb connection limited to 1Gb a day (when I download ~12-16Gb) which means you hit their limit in ~1Hour a day

Needless to say they've never (to my knowledge) enforced it as they're a bit of a lughting stock over here.

Welcome to the standard in Australia!

The top two providers (serving probably 80%) decided that 3GB was the perfect amount for everyone except the top 5% of users. Now its not so bad because more competition has made the average limit go up to about 10GB. Still pretty low though

I just switched to 2mb/2mb UNLIMITED for $59.

Was at home user 5mbit.768 for $40.

Home business if you like to say, but we have All Cox services to ask for, so I'm getting a deal.=)

Won't see the affect for a week, but damn cool, I can run a server.=)
