Can someone tell me what is the point of suprnova? Any torrents I have tried to dl from there have failed - rejected by tracker, unrecognised host (my IP address), go to crazymazey's. So if u have to be a member of the host site to dl the torrents then what is the point of them appearing on suprnova? |

![]() They have open trackers ![]() At least that's the main point of Suprnova ![]() |

Guess I've just been unlucky and picked duff trackers then. The most recent tracker was Deported Women of the SS Special Section which is only showing a FS intermittently in emule and reckons it will take 97D 21h to download, an improvement over the 1000+ days it was saying 2 weeks back though ![]() |

This the is reason for me why crazymazy is no 'great horror site' for me, but a suprnova polluting annoyance. Not that I care that much anymore since the new suprnova policy regarding linking. |

Suprnova shows registered trackers too which mean *you have to register to the tracker if you want to download the stuff*. It's not much hard to understand, this way we can keep the leechers off our trackers ![]() |

1. Not all register trackers are marked this way. Maybe all crazymazys, don't know and don't care. 2. I don't want to see them at all. 3. Some leech conciousness on edonky might be a good thing, on BT it is mostly stupid. |

OK sussed it, there is an R against the registered trackers. This wasn't a dig at CM btw, just asking what is the point of them appearing on suprnova. |

LOL ThEdEaDLiVe, you know you can say anything you want ![]() ![]()
Main reason is to spread the files to a larger audience. suprnova is number one stop for torrent seekers, and its their own choice to register if they like the stuff CM holds. Sure you can say BT is stupid. I personally using BT only to seed stuff for other users, I'm not downloading anything from BT (i'm a ED2K guy). But if you ever seed something on BT, you'll see that it's not good to have people downloads and flees, leaving you all alone again ![]() |

Never said BT is stupid. I use it regularly. But with BT too much leech paranoia is stupid. BT is good for high demand files, which should be spread as quick as possible. With a few leeches it simply makes no difference. I always use no register tracker and have rates up to 100kb/s. Do you provide at crazymazy's 200kb/s because there are no leeches? On edonkey it is a little different. With rare files and sometimes way unter a dozend sources a single leech can hurt. |

I also have nothing against BT, I am an ed2k man but there is room for both. In fact I am currently running BT to get some MAME stuff as all the http/ftp sites I used to use have died and my experiences of using ed2k for mame aren't good (v0.75 took weeks to dl, had loads of missing games and a good number of crc errors) |

As you said, BT is good for high demand files. If 3000 peers are on a file, you don't care about the leeching 1500 'cause you know remaining seeds will keep the file alive long enough. But if only 10 people are on a file and 8 hits/runs, that's an another story. In CM we don't allow mainstream movies, screeners etc and they're the ones that have high demand. So there definitely should be a precaution for the leechers ![]() Most people know that I'm very open to any kind of criticism. I know you have some good points, I know ThEdEaDLiVe has some good points and I know some people don't like registered trackers of CM. Why I'm saying this? Because I prefer this thread closed, not because I don't like the criticism, it's because I don't like advertising a forum in another forum (you know, there's no such thing as bad advertisement) ![]() |

True, but in that case I think the wrong net is used. Cases like these are the strength of edonkey. ![]() |
