As it was sadly expected now is the BT pages to fall !
Suprnova is down for good !
Only survivers so far are DC and emule and I think they cant do much about the DC!

Do you have more information? Why is it 'down for good'? The empty page I see now is nothing new for me. SuprNova never was a very stable site. I experienced such downtimes long before the current mpaa problems.

Ok, I see what you mean now. The first time I tried I did not get the message, but an empty page.

Greetings everybody,

As you have probably noticed, we have often had downtimes. This was because it was so hard to keep this site up!
But now we are sorry to inform you all, that SuprNova is closing down for good in the way that we all know it.
We do not know if SuprNova is going to return, but it is certainly not going to be hosting any more torrent links.
We are very sorry for this, but there was no other way, we have tried everything.

Thank you all that helped us, by donating mirrors or something else, by uploading and seeding files, by helping people out on IRC and on forum, by spreading the word about SuprNova.org.
It is a sad day for all of us!

Please visit SuprNova.org every once in a while to get the latest news on what is happening and if there is anything new to report on.

As we wish to maintain the nice comunity that we created, we are keppig forums and irc servers open.

Thank you all and Goodbye!
sloncek & the rest of the SuprNova Team

Is a sad day indeed

suprnova isn't the whole of BT. http://www.torrentreactor.net is still there - so I don't think BT is dead just yet. Filelist.org is OK, but torrentbits.org has gone forever. Also lokitorrent.com is still up as is 123torrents.com.

Thanks to all users, uploaders, mods and donors for helping create the best torrent site on the net, but this is where the road ends for us.

Troma, cut in the UK, banned in Germany, sounds interesting. No ed2k sources though, is this a torrent?

its worth noting suprnova was a "mouth piece". All torents posted were just from other trackers, so the same content is still there, there's just no big central host for that kind of content for the time being.

Not nice to pick on the dead, but I never really did like SN. Lately it was too difficult to _not_ get a spanish movie. I once wanted to register there, after reading the rules I moved away disgusted.

Just a note also that you can still get to the torrents on Sn through a proxy. If you make a direct connection to the site you only see the goodbye message. Torrents are dated to December 15.

I really think Sn is up to something though because of this. Maybe Exeem is closer to a release than i thought. Who knows. But something doesn't seem right if they still show torrents through a proxy but are just not updating past the 15th. Maybe just to make the Mpaa think they've won. I think they're just riding the wave right now and playing it safe also. Only time will tell i guess.

This is a bit dull http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/12/18 ... _analysis/ but

WOW :-o

I've read that also that bt is the biggest user of bandwidth of anything on the net. The community was really that huge. It's just harder to get stats on because of all the different communities and not everybody being connected together like on emule. Sn was getting 2 million hits a day alone. It just shows the scope of how big bittorent really was/is.

I just checked torrentmatrix. It'd be good if they widen the categories for torrents. "Movie - DVDRip" is very general category :)

Nice effect the mpaa achieved. I learned many new sites. I started to use IRC more and perhaps I will look for a free nntp server. Did not use the usenet for years. ;-)

They also except external torrents which is good so we can still use Zaerc's tracker and upload the same torrent to torrentmatrix.
