As title. Would you guys be interested in DVD-R releases? Or do you prefer DiVX? I know they're gonna take a lot longer to spread, but with a small community like this, people should get the files reasonably quickly.

My FAVORITE is DVDR of course.

But I understand the 7/1 ratio on file size.

When I rent a dvd, I just make a dvdr.

And if I see a version of a movie I can't find, and it's on dvdr and Divx.
I grab both.=)

I love DVDr, I just unfortunately have a 512 line so it takes me a while to get stuff. I do download lots of DVDr off of emule and BT (i got loads from BT), and would love to see some of my favourite films (horror :) ) in DVDr. I'm waiting for a few to come out and there will definitely be a DVDr section on this site.

If there is a well spread DVDr and a well spread divx, and I want the film, it's DVDr all the way.

I would release some myself but I simply don't have the line to back it up :( B/W is the only concern for DVDr releases (thx a lot BT + cable, you pricks) :(

Ditto. Stuff i get off of the net I burn 6 + films to a DVDr and will eventually get a standalone player that can play divx when they come cheap :)

BTW. I have a Pioneer 105, hacked firmware = region free and can burn 2x media at 4x :) Best bit of hardware I bought for a long time.

Yeah, I'm on 512down/256up so I guess I wouldn't be the best person in the world to release DVD-R.

Maybe I'll just stick to DiVX

sorry to say this, but if you're gonna download a dvdr you might as well just buy the damn thing yourself...
I like this whole 'download movie' buisyness because of being able to get so many movies and bla bla bla... that's why I allways prefer 1cd rips. It's just to see the movies. if there's something I love and treasure, I buy the dvd.
and that's my opinion, so shut up! =)

I agree with ya man, DVDR are just too big for a one watch wonder. I rarely like a movie enough to watch more than once, and if I do like it I buy the DVD.

Same here. DVDRs are IMNHO an absolute waste of time, space and bandwidth. I am glad that I have a dvd-burner and get 6 - 7 movies on dvd. Would not want to lose that advantage.

I'm afraid I don't go for 'em as I'm poor and can't afford a dvd burner or the bandwith (600/128) :(

i have to agree with these guys, divx is plenty good for me, 1cd rips are preffered but 2 cd rips for class films is appreciated also, i couldnt b arsed to wait ages for a dvd-r. one for the future when my connection catches up with the file sizes

In 10 years time, when Poland has some better connections and DVD-Rs finally reach reasonable prices - sure, I'll be interested.
