Yesterday I bought a new computer which I wanted to use as server. And what happens? The same day my old computer breaks. Perhaps the punishment for buying a Mac Mini. ![]() |

Better yet, imagine, how rich you would be (and for that matter, everyone else), if everything always worked as it should ![]() (it's strange however how things with a warranty of a year usually brake down after 13 or some months, isn't it? ![]() |

Not this time. The one that broke is only three month old. So it is not really my problem. Nevertheless, I don't really need the extra time to have it repaired. |

Great, just great. Yesterday I got my compter back. Repaired within warranty time. Did not cost me one penny. The same day my new 300G external hd crashed. Wasn't even a week old. Has cost me some films I have not burned ![]() |

You know, every electronic device I buy is usually broken or breaks after a few days. Then there's 2 weeks of servicing (sometimes more, if it returns to me unrepaired for the first time). It has always been like that, I got used to it with time. Among those things I could mention a few TV sets, a few phones, a few computers, an electric shaver, lots of stereo equipment, scanners, printers, etc. So I wouldn't complain about just one computer and an hdd. ![]() |

The think which bothers me most is that I transferred the same day all my files from my internet computer to this hd. I deleted everything on the old hd because I wanted to sell the old computer. The loss is not that terrible. A few days mail, a few easy to replace configuration files, but all started downloads. And a few films I did not burn. Of course I don't make backups of unfinished downloads. The really important stuff is always safe and secure. ![]() |
