Just seen the amityville horror trailer, the thing i liked about the original is
(with one or two execptions) you never see anything, this one is wall to wall
with ghosts and shadows running around the place. i know alot of ppl thought
the original was crappy, but i really liked it. i can imagine a suit sitting in an
office thinking if we dont show them jodie's ghost they won't get whats going
on. reminds me of the plight of haute tension in the US:

The film had previously played UK cinema's uncut and in its original language
under the title "Switchblade Romance", and US distributors 'Lion's Gate' were
planning to do the same. However they have decided to cave in to financial
pressure as releasing the movie uncut with an NC17 rating would mean that
many cinema chains wouldn't show the film. Not content with cutting the
film to secure an R-rating (meaning under 17's can see it if accompanied
by an adult), they've also decided to dub the film believing many US cinemagoer's
would be put off from seeing a foreign language film. Way to ruin a perfectly
good film Lion's Gate, and you thought we had it bad in the UK? |
