Yes, so I thought and reasoned so too.....
Except some cftp clients do when losing & reestablishing connection..

yes if you have an instable connection or don't know how to configure your client, there's a high chance your likely to get a hash change :(

Shouldn't Donkey Doctor or something of that ilk be able ot fix the hash?I can do the ftp thing I just have to wait until reconnected with a new ip.

How could Donkey Doctor or something fix a hash, when the original file got corrupted?

The original would not be corrupted if someone is transfering the original via ftp to another ftp. That is what I am talking about. There is an option to fix the Hash.Of course if the original is corrupted then you will have a corrupted movie..that is just common sense.

Slight misunderstanding. To use 'original' for the transferred file was stupid. I meant when the copy has another hash than the original, then it got corrupted by the transfer. How could any program fix that? Or do divx, mpeg contain redundant information for error correction like a CD?

Read the Read me fiel that comes with the DonkeyDr rar.It has an import/export function as well as a recoverment option..But as was stated before if you have an ftp that is configured properly then it shouldn't be different at all from the original.I have not tried the feature on the Dr. but it is there.

I had all the time trouble with ftp.
check this zz-client out:
http://www.emule-project.net/board/inde ... opic=24089
sounds pretty good for releasing

quotation:
Enhanced co-release/friends functionality!
All available upload bandwidth is focused on friend slots, if the friends want to download. You will be able to give friend slots to several friends simultaneously. This means you can share your files with your friends and co-releasers efficiently in eMule, instead of using an ftp-server, ICQ, irc-dcc or similar. Your co-releasers will start sharing the file as soon as they complete the first chunk, instead of having to wait for the entire file to be transfered. If you have several co-releasers to spread the file to, eMule will automatically make sure that the coreleasers will be rotated in the upload slots, giving one chunk to each co-releaser, to make sure the file is available with maximum bandwidth as soon as possible. If your co-releasers also give each other friend slots, the file will spread even faster! While you are uploading to your co-releasers, other clients will be able to find you as a source, and as soon as the friends are done downloading, the bandwidth will automatically be used by any other clients that want your files. ZZUL remembers which of your friends that have been given friend slots between restarts.

Well, why people are getting corrupted files over ftp, is cause they have the Rollback Resume set to something other than 0.

We rar files so we don't have to upload a 700 MB file again if it gets corrupt, just a 15 MB file.=)

Plus when you rar the movie itself, that's why we make sfv files, so we KNOW which are corrupt.

Very easy.

Just bumping.

No need to post here, or ask whatever.

Just PM me with an FTP, with the movie you want, it will get there as soon as I read it.=)

Do you still need help? I've got some free hdd space, you know...

Perhaps Katya would like to take the opportunity, I have the impression that her connection is always too slow for her ripping capabilities.

Mine is probably even worse, but if we unite our powers... think about it. :)

Forgot to mention that I would rather download from somebody's ftp than have the files uploaded onto mine. It's much more comfortable because from time to time I may need a reset or get disconnected (dyn-dns adsl) and it would be easier for me to take care everything is appended as it should. From my experience it is better to download than have the files uploaded.

Is this a problem?
