Hi guys, just been to the docs regarding a problem I have had with pain in my upper stomach and loss of appetite.

He has suggested it is most likely an ulcer, duodenal or something like that. Altho it may be other things he has suggested trying treatment for this first as anything else is unlikely as I am young, fit and have perfect BMI.

I have been prescribed a 28 day course of Omeprazole an he hopes this will help. I have looked up online regarding symptoms, and I have the rare symptons LOL, aint that the way.

The page I read suggested no real link with diet, altho I admit that I do not eat very regularly, I tend to starve all day and scoff in the evening, altho I do not eat crap or fried shit, only meat and veg.

Anyone else have this, or a similar problem, and have any lifestyle changes I can make to help? I know I should eat more regular, also smoking is no help, alcohol intake is very low, prolly just 6 or 7 units a week, if that.

The plan I have so far is more excercise, easy cos I just take teh dog out more.

Smoking, hhm, don't wanna give up, so I will try to seriously cut it down.

What else can I do to help?

@John Doe, never thought of that, what does it do?

@Vermin, I rarely fart, seriously. The weird thing is when I was younger acid was a real problem for me, despite no medical cause being found, the last couple of years I have had none, not even now.

Stress, not really, nothing I can't easily handle.

Loss of appetite was the wrong descrioption, I am hungry all the time, but I just could not physically eat, 1 bite and I was feeling hugely bloated. Trust me, the herbal method you are on about is no help, that makes me want to eat even more LOL

I would never have guessed tho, I had none of teh usual symptoms, that was why I was so worried, sods law I got the rarer symptoms.

Either way, I am hoping a few lifestyle changes will rectify this small "feature" of my bio-vehicle. My doc said most of these types of ulcer are actually triggered by a virus, and the chances of completely eradicating this annoyance is very good.

All this assumes it is this tho, he said other, less likely, causes of my symptoms could be a gall bladder problem, or even worse some kind of growth, but I aint thinking about that LOL

Do you reckon God is related to Bill Gates?

Try to eat earlier in the day, as your body is more efficient at digesting the food. Breakfast like a KIng, Lunch like a Prince and Dinner like a Pauper is the way the saying goes.

Also, if the diet is meat and Veg maybe some carbs might help balance things out a bit? (Assuming the veg doesn't include starchy stuff like tatties and pulses/beans etc.)

That's what my doc said with my ulcer. Learn to eat breakfast again. Back then I used to puke almost every morning because I ate late...

Well, I had a small coffee this morning, and I also ate a small bowl of cereal. Now I remember why I have never eaten breakfast LOL Makes me feel sick.

I spose I will get used to it tho, the biggest thing I miss already, and it is only day 1, is my huge caffeiene intake. Normally I would have 3 or 4 mugs of coffee before I did anything else LOL

Atleast my chilled mineral water dispenser is gonna get a bit more use now.

Thanks for your suggestions/support, this is actually the first time my lifestyle has directly affected my health, so the first time I have had to change it. :beerchug:

Aloe-vera is like engine oil for your body. It has helped me before, when I had digestion troubles that changed from ache, to diareah, to constipation. Find some pure, liquid aloe and wash it down every day.

Oh, and try to find out what might be causing you stress, and do something about it!
