It looks good, but I REALLY disliked the music and flashy editing they used in the trailer. Romero would have the good sense to leave that shit out of the movie itself, hopefully. |

i'm afraid i've lost faith in the whole of hollywood. The problem is they have too much money, they can do too much, and unfortunately, their limitations become overly apparant. On the other hand, none of the studios seem to bother being original either, and they normally hand projects to safe director's who have no talent beyond basic skills, and just do whatever's asked of them. One of the reason Romero took so long with this movie methinks, they wouldn't give him a chance ![]() My major fear, and I mean major fear, is that this may suffer from post-matrix syndrome, loads of flash and none of the substance. As a general trend, the equipment costs too much (and on this movie specifically, the sets from the single shot i've seen looked too pampered to be realistic), the actors get paid too much, and the CGI reveals too much... I think its insulting to the audience in a 'Signs' kind of way when a director doesn't have enough confiendence in himself to leave the audience be instead of nannying them through films. I mean there's always been the odd film like this, but maybe i'm being pessimistic, but it seems to be every film like this these days. Dawn of the Dead (1978) is probably my favourite horror movie btw. ps. I haven't watched the trailer, as I'm at uni, but i have a strong suspicion what its going to be like, especially after only seeing one production still from the movie (see the thread in the cabal on this movie ![]() I'll report back when i watch the trailer and how correct my comments are. |

Firstly, the music is lifted from Resident Evil and has nothing to do with the movie, i doubt Romero will have approved it. The actual intro music to RE the film is actually rather good, in this case its a hashed up cut of one of the shorter pieces later in it. Kind of ironic if you ask me, Romero got fired from from RE for making it too much about zombies, and paul anderson couldn't make a film to save his life, let alone a zombie movie. Did i say ironic? I meant extremely sad and degrading! Secondly, does it strike people as odd that given the apocalypse in the 70s, all their stuff seems very new? Thirdly, the actual content is way too short to reflect anything beyond worries about everything being too clean and un-dead like (pardon the pun). I mean if you cast back to the Phantom Menace trailer, its actually pretty damn good. Its one of the best trailers put together to be honest, and the film itself was pretty shit. Anyway, is it just me or did I see Luigi Mario listed under the cast? ![]() |
