not sure where i should post this but I would like to ask if anyones ever thought about putting these excellant horrors and sci-fis on bearshare, so a lot more people can share them,some people have problems with some download programs and can only use certain ones. thanks.

And why would somebody not be able to use eMule? I've never used Bearshare but i don't think it's better than eMule, looking at the popularity of both.

Code:
Network                  Users
eDonkey2K     4,633,589
FastTrack         2,555,372
Gnutella       1,634,774

Gnutella = Bearshare

Use emule, the more users the better in P2P, if you want the files emule has to offer, use emule.

Official statement from STR is that we only support decent networks that pay us huge wads of cash.

gnutella is utter shit, the network is seriously, seriously flawed... edonkey source count used to be terrible like that like 4 years ago (remember when no1 could find sources with the lack of source propagation sharing?)... some tools think that's still the case these days (which makes me frown heavily at them when all they need to do is sit on a server and wait for sources to spread).

I would never use gnutella, the network is redundant and limited in a way even behind emules, the program is even worse and the problems related to it are tenfold in comparison to emule. It is really an inferior network and not really worth using.

port blocking is the only real hinderance for emule, but that's the same for every network too.
