Hey guys, I think it's a shame we're limited to a kinda troublesome oversized very hard to get rip for "my sweet satan" (even so, thanks a lot for that krator, at least if no one answer this I'll still get that one eventually) , and no rip at all for ROADKILL... let's show van bebber some praiser folks :/ guy is underground with a capital U... I know theres a dvd release containing both shorts, no one here has it? please update the sweet satan rip so it can be avaiable again with a smaller size better version and be well spread, and rip Roadkill for the first time...

and btw, is that Manson Family rip from STR uncut? cause theres that 2disc special edition, and that says unrated, the first one that rip came from is labeled as "rated" in some online stores.

What are you actually after quality wise?

The Chunkblower rip I did was at DVD resolution and the biggest size XVID would do.

I can do My Sweet Satan and the Skinny Puppy video from the Deadbeat at Dawn DVD, but if I'm going to do them, then they'll be full res and fairly big files. I don't see the point in having smaller files if the quality is shite

Why they never put Roadkill on this DVD is beyond me...

Well lets say scene rip quality is the minimum quality your going for.
According to TDX, 40min tv episode -> 350mb, at 512-640 x resolution.

Logically, according to TDX, a 20-30min rip should be 175mb. Which is why you see stuff like the simpsons at that size coming from scene groups. Those are usually ~576x

So if your doing a 704x or a 720x (no zooming!!!!!), your probably going to for 200-300mb for about 25mins which should be plenty.

Depends on the quality of the source, the runtime and how compressible it is. If your doing three, why not do them as a set @ 233mb? Assuming they are all about 20mins long and compressible.

did you ivtc? shouldn't the framerate be 23.971fps?

DGIndex brought them all out at 0% film and they've all had Field Deinterlace done.

Fogot to mention that the Skinny Puppy video and My Sweet Satan both have dual audio with commentaries.

The other my sweet satan rip although being amazingly oversized is IVTC'd though, DGIndex is not reliable and is untrustworthy, it gets its info from reading the headers, you need to manually check frames. Pretty simple to spot a mixture of progressive and interlaced films

In Gknot just progress through the frames and keep an eye on the frame ordering

first of all, I admit maybe it sounded like I was a little cheap about the filesize... but the main complain was that maybe the rip could be not only smaller but better, meaning proper... I'm not expert on the matter, but it looked like it could use a re-rip, just that

OffColour , the chunkblower rip was perfect to me, and that trailer got me so much into seeking the other van bebber stuff never meant to complain about that, and thanks a lot for the new rip for my sweet satan will start getting that right now

I'd misunderstood the interlacing issue and selected Field Deinterlace where I should have gone IVTC (i.e. the sequence is PPPII).

TC is the work of the devil, its been the pain of my life ever since i started ripping.

First you preview to see if you can force film. If that's a no, if you browse the frames one by one and see a mixture of progressive and interlaced you check the ivtc box (in gknot), if its all (every frame) interlaced then you use something like field deinterlaced.

Eventually I return with IVTC versions:
