I remember sharing Phantasm 2 for over a year because I put in the audio from VHS, it spread very well...

When I did 3 with english audio, Spud put his DVD version on the internet... good thing he did that :)

I would love a widescreen version of Phantasm 2, that one was the coolest one.

The fourth one I deleted again since it was a POS
3rd one wasn't that good either actually, but I kept it because I wanted a trilogy ;)

These are other links I found
ed2k: (Horror) Phantasm 2(DVDRIP).avi  [661.19 Mb] [Stats]
length: 92 minutes
Can someone comment about this release? is it in english?

The german version which I put in the sound
ed2k: [Horror].Das.Boese.2.(Phantasm.2).(German.Uncut.DivX5.)..avi  [698.53 Mb] [Stats]
length: 92 minutes

Same as above but with english audio
ed2k: [TKoB].Phantasm.2.(English.audio.by.El.Mariachi).640x480.avi  [641.53 Mb] [Stats]
Length: 92 minutes
I still need to redo this one again since I was a n00b and re-saved the video again. So it was a divx on a divx :(

Phantasm (1979).avi - I can confirm that it's English and good quality. It seems to be the widescreen version.

Phantasm II [Full DivX].avi - average quality (which doesn't mean bad, just average), but it seems to be the best available version in English (this is El Mariachi's rip).

Phantasm III.avi - I'm currently downloading this version of part III, seriously undersized (588 MB), but picture quality is higher than Spud's rip (which actually surprizes me a lot). I was also hoping this could be the uncut version, but I still don't know.

phantasm.oblivion.ws.divx505.avi - not available yet, I'm waiting for Spud here, but from the screenshots it's obvious it's the best available quality, plus no dubbing.

Methinks Spud's version is cut, it doesn't have a few thing I know the uncut version has, eg there's a few seconds missing when the guy's throat is cut with a sort of a spiked frisbee. Besides something strange is happening with colors in this rip, it looks as if composite colors were drifting apart, so that the left side of every object is green and the righ hand side is pinkish red. Perhaps it's just my codec, but it's the only rip that has it on my machine, and the other rip which 'm now downloading doesn't have this.

Now, part 1 is verified by me. Decent quality, WS, DVD-rip. Small encoding errors once or twice, but nothing serious.

Phantasm (1979).avi

Code:

I can post Phantasm 3 if anyone wants it.
I again took the video from the german uncut release and added VHS audio to it.
There's just one scene where the kid says "so is this" but that part has the audio missing, but the background sounds are there (dunno why)

It has the impact of the frisbee on the throat :D

Anyway, about the colors

Make sure that you either de-install the ffdshow filter or install it. I dont remember anymore.
I had the same problem with Dog Soldiers.
It did the trick for me... not too sure whether it was related :D
