I've been looking for this one for years, requesting it on various boards from time to time. It is extremely rare, but I believe it's available on VHS in the US. I guess it classifies as a horror, although it's one of the most original movies I've ever seen. Intriguing, surprising, with original idea and absolutely brilliant ending.

Pleeeeeeaaaaaaseeeeeee!!!

I'm amazed that this flick didn't emerge on eMule yet, or for that matter, anywhere else. Very few people heard about it. And we are talking of a real masterpiece, intelligent, deep, psychological, dark, atmospheric, claustrofobic, visually striking experiance, a movie that is at least as good as Cronengerg's best pictures. I've seen it 4 or 5 years ago on tv and still can't forget it.

Somebody MUST have acces to it.

OMG, I've just read the IMDB comments. If you are EVER going to see this movie, DON'T read the comment by one Jean-Luc Meloche. This imbecile begins his article saying: "I will try to explain in my best english (I am a french speaking person) the "unreal" issue of the movie". And he does it. How can anyone be so stupid as to reveal the whole plot of a movie which is based on suspense and mystery. Throughout the whole movie you wait for some explanation, and this idiot entitles his summary "For some who did not catch it all" (F****!, it is all explained VERY explicitly at the end!) and just explains everything!
If you did not understand it, you don't deserve any explanation, beacuse this means that you are an idiot and probably Jean-Luc Meloche!

hehe,
i didnt read the imdb, and stopped reading polityk's post after the words 'imbecile started with..' to avoid spoiling.

long shot, but i think there is a 'Pure Formality' laying around, begging to be capped.

man, I'm expecting 'Death and the Maiden' movie quality here. since they've both got something to do with Polanski.

Probably my favorite movie of all time. I only saw it once on Bravo network many years ago and has stuck with me ever since. I recently picked up a VHS copy and ripped it today. Its VCD quality and ripped from a tape so dont expect superb quality. :)

Anyways here is disk 1.

ed2k: Pure.Formality.1.mpg  [557.48 Mb] [Stats]

I will post disk 2 in a few days or so. I tried to convert the mpg with vcdgear as vcdeasy wouldnt do it. Well it worked and I burned it to cd and tried to play it in my dvd player (Apex) and it wouldnt get pass the FBI warning. Anyone know why? This is the first movie I havent been able to play on my dvd player. :?

Great. Yes, I know there is no DVD version. Anyway, VCDs is not my favourite format, but in this case I don't care that much as long as the quality will be bearable.

Now if you could tell me which server you're on it would really make my day.

Quality is poor but bearable, especially when there is no alternative. I guess after you release cd2 you could post it in the VHS section.

Please do not unshare it.
