HANNO CAMBIATO FACCIA (They?ve Changed Faces) Alberto Valle works for a large corporation that has holdings in many large manufacturing companies. He is told that the owner of the firm, Dr. Nosferatu, would like to have a meeting with him at his castle located in a small village in the mountains. He travels to the eerie village to discover the people are suspicious of him and will not talk to him. When he arrives at the ominous and seemingly deserted villa he is told that Nosferatu only is available at night. When the two men meet, Valle is informed that Nosferatu has some great plans for him and that he must join his inner circle. As the days pass Valle makes a horrifying discovery about Dr. Nosferatu. He learns of the inner workings of the corporation and the intense greed which drives it, selling unsuspecting consumers worthless products through manipulation of the media. An amazingly clever satire using ?Dracula? as a metaphor for large corporate greed. The film?s director, Corrado Farina, worked for years in the advertising business creating television commercials. With this, his first film, he is able to cleans his soul with this blistering attack on consumerism. Similar to the works of Alejandro Jodorowsky this film is destined for cult status. Starring Rosalba Bongiovanni, Pio Buscaglione, Salvadore Cantagalli, Adolfo Celi, Giuliano Disperati. Written by Giulio Berruti, Corrado Farina. Directed by Corrado Farina. (1971-Italy) Widescreen. In Italian with English subtitles. |
