Does anyone here know anything about ASCII art (for use in .nfo files etc. ?), and how to avoid display issues on forums like this one?

if so, help!

I'm trying to get this character to display :
Code:
which as you can see, works fine in unicode, but when posted in plain ANSI, all I get is an I with an \ above it :(

Thing is, if I use unicode then .nfo viewer wont display properly.
HELP!!

I've been on the ascii scene since the early 90's and this issue has always been the hot potato ever since people started using PCs over Amigas. Now ANSI codes are confusing people even more.

I offer no solution except a parser where you can load an .NFO (with those ANSI characters) and it makes a .PNG out of it.

http://blockshow.sourceforge.net/

Also there are a few text-to-text converters out there where you easily transform ANSI characters show they'll show up correctly there, but I'm afraid I cannot link you to one.
