Somebody stole my emule nick!

San-Feng

I was checking my Q list for HHAH people(Give them friend slots) when i discovered that someone has the same nick as my self.
My emule nick is "HHAH San-Feng" and this "someone's" nick is "emule HHAH San-Feng".
So my question is, has someone here had the same thing happen to them or is it just me?
Should i msg this person or not, telling him he stole my nick?
I'd like some feedback on this, since i don't know what to do with it.

This person is on a 3.1.0.106 server that is in my ipfilter.dat aswell.
That's weird i think.

Seen a couple of Polish emule clients using my nick in my queue on both my work and home line, I just use my slightly dodgy emule client to get their IP, manually ban the buggers then stick that in my ipfilter.

Seems to happen quite a bit recently, think that is why Wargand has (really) in brackets after his name.

As we are recognised by our userhashes it pretty much seems a waste of time anyway, it is not going to get them anywhere.

There was a good thread over at FTi about this, one person changed his name to "copy this you bastard" and that appeared in his list as a client.

Since the advent of SUI nick stealing is a waste of time.

Wargand has also a script, which blocks automatically everyone with the string 'wargand' (all capitalisations) in his nick. Of course it waits till this idiot starts to download from me. But usually I start it only when I am pissed (happens very often) or don't transfer torrents here.

just found someone using my nick also....only the prick has added eMule infront of my nick :wacky:

can't be assed to trace his IP but i know he is in Germany and using the same client as me (unless he's altered the code) :matrix:

Neomule is the mod to use if you want to get someone's IP address BTW, although it's not been updated for yonks :wink:

its a stabdard leech mod feature when they steal your userhash, theres no need to announce it because your the only one who'll ever see it.

You should run the latest mod with updated anti-leech features else its the risk you run.
