Ringu
- WMP says "encountered unknown error"
- Real One says "Class Factory cannot supply requested class"

The Ring : Virus
- WMP says "error downloading codec" and no audio track present
- Real One says "some of the streams in this movie are in an unsupported format" and no audio track present

Ring O - Birthday
- WMP says "error downloading codec" and no audio track present
- Real One says "some of the streams in this movie are in an unsupported format" and no audio track present

The Ring CDs 1+2
- WMP says "error downloading codec" and no audio track present
- Real One says "some of the streams in this movie are in an unsupported format" and no audio track present

Any idea why I keep getting this message? It's happened with a lot of the movies that I've clicked links from on here. Not blaming the site, and it's probably my fault, but what the hell is going on? I can't watch this series or any of the Alien movies. I recently installed Morgan Stream Switcher due to another audio problem (dual audio) so could that be causing it?

I'd stop using real one and WMP. If you want to watch movies hassle free get either Bsplayer or zplayer, also install the latest Xvid, divx and ffdshow codecs and see if that solves it.

This should be of use

Would install ac3 audio codec too if you don't have it already, as it is commonly used.

Zoomplayer is best option in my opinion, and supports dual audio as standard. Ctrl+A switches channels.

Good luck. :)

Thanks guys, think I've got most things working now. Seems that Ringu is corrupt for some reason as that is the only one that still isn't working yet.

I use the 'old' or 'classic' media player for everything. The only trouble i had was
when i didn't have the latest ffdshow installed, apart from that it was great. It uses low sys resources too.

I had the same problem with Ringu. Downloaded it twice, both times it wouldn't play. So, divfixed it and it actually worked after that and no corrupted scenes whatever :)
