This may sound like a daft question but am I supposed to do anything if I see a that a source is A4AF in my downloads?

It simply means that you have asked that source for another file, it should tell you what file you have asked them for.

you can of course change what file you want to be downloading from that source. Very usefull with releases from this page, as you're bound to find the same source for many different files. I usually put an 'auto a4af' on the file I want the most.

Depends on your mod, the standard emule client doesn't have this feature and I can't find it in Sivka although it's mentioned in the docs.

standard emule does have A4AF...it was implemented some time ago......right click on a particular download and it should have the option "sources handling (A4AF) :wink:

I never saw that one, I've been using Sivka recently though and can't find it

emule plus also have this feature, thanks for the explanation anyway, I never used A4AF before

yes it is, you have to enable extended options it in preferences first.
