I suppose if you reeaallllly wanted to I could try and re do doom9's guide :?

As that is all that I have followed really and just practised with each rip etc etc.

But I literally followed doom9 and then as I learned from their suggestions, tweaked it myself.

But I pretty much leave the settings alone as long as the rips have no probs

That would be reaaaaaaaalllllllyyy pointless  doom9 guides are dead simple anyways, no point rewriting them.

My experience is the same as paul's, I just followed the guide so I knew what everything does, then its dead simple and you are free to play with the features.

So not sure what alternative there is

What exactly gets you stumped by Doom9's guide Jynks?

We could always elaborate on a section if thats the prob?

Doom9 guides are good, but they are a little disjointed, it would be better if they were all on one page, not that I care anymore (being the talented and brilliant ripper that I am  ), but I remember that being the case when I first looked at them.

Yea but I can not seam to figure it out.... dooom's guides confuse the hell out of me. Plus every one I talked to always say that they are a "base" thing and that you need to tweak them anyways... so a short guide I think would be really cool. Or mabey if someone on IRC would teach me I'll write up a HHAH guide for dummies.

The one on Doom9 is the most up to date though.

I am not quite sure what the problem with this guideline is. It's a really straightforward, step-by-step instruction. You only need to read it once or twice to get accustomed to the options (IMO the layout of GK could be a bit more logical, but you can get used to it). It doesn't require any special knowledge or anything. I think the most complicated step is using DGIndex and setting all the interlacing options properly, but this is also well-explained in Doom9 tutorials.

sometimes is good to have a slightly different perspective if something is baffling you. i had 2 read more than one guide b4 i got a rip i was happy with, as they seem to do things slightly differently. esp as is not exactly like an instant thing to do a rip :)

That's annoying, that you actually can't predict the outcome. But you can always try and encode some small bit as a preview. As for different perspectives - after a few rips you'll notice you are not actually following any of those giudelines.
