I finally completed Sweet Movie last night and anytime i go to play the file it closes all folders i have open and brings me back to the desktop. Even if i don't try to play it and i just click once on the file to highlight it or even right click over it, it still does the same thing. Does anybody know why it's doing that?

Sounds like explorer is trying to read an avi with a corrupted header, and its crashing and burning in the process. You need to stop windows from trying to read info from avi files if that's the case:

Otherwise it could be numerous things, filters that go to the system tray normally cause this too (ie. ffdshow)

I tried that tweak out but no go. However i ran it through divfix and rebuilt the index and it still did the same thing but it also opened the player up this time and i was able to view it. So it must be something else then but at least i can it watch it now. Thanks once again for helping out Spud :beerchug:

Try reconverting the file.

This happened to me a long time ago with a file and the only why to view it was to reconvert it..

btW your computer may be just real smart and is trying to tell you not to see this disgusting crap movie. :wacky:

I can't say enough about the ability of vlc to play fooked up files. Lets you watch them without messing with them. Good if you don't want to change the hash.

I downloaded it too and it's problem-free :) The problem you mentioned happened to me with Hellboy and fixed by uninstalling-reinstalling xvid codecs.

this does sound like a good fix :wacky:

But if that dosen't work re-encode..but Decypher makes sense..

My problem with a file i had was a nightmare and reinstalling codecs didn't help so I re-incoded it to a mpg file.
Then again there was some crazy crap going on with my computer at the time so I reformatted.

Maybe my divx ones are messed up then. I'll try uninstallling and reinstalling and see what happens.
