OK guys I am running XP Pro with SP2, I let some ppl use my PC and it got alot of shit on it that left behind all kinds of crap, anyways I killed it all but it left behind startup entries and the like.

Obviously I disabled and then removed them from the startup tab under msconfig, I removed them via the registry as you do, but some of them have left entries under services.msc aswell.

I understand it isno threat now as the files are gone etc, but anyone know how I can remove the entries from services.msc? What can I say, I like things to be neat and tidy

they had no uninstallers? before you do any registry hacking, you should go to add remove programs. Anything that's service based should be listed there.

I've never had a service stay after removing the program/uninstalling.

Twas a couple of dodgy apps, I believe they were ad servers, they had no uninstallers and I could find no removal instructions other than removing relevant entries form registry and deleting the apps. The weird thing is the entry in services is still there but where it should say the service name is just blank.

Like I said it aint no biggy, just annoys me cos it is not right.
