It doesn't download immediately, you have to wait for your turn. Make sure you're connected to a server and there are full sources for the files you want to download (i.e. there are no red parts in the bars visible next to the filenames in your download queue, labelled "Progress"). Please, read the guidelines and FAQs on emule's homepage

HERE: http://www.emule-project.net/home/perl/help.cgi?l=1

and the guides and FAQs you can find on this board,

HERE: http://forum.dead-donkey.com/viewtopic.php?t=4

before asking further questions.

I just reinstalled and it wasn't downloading much or fast, give it a couple of hours you'll get several going at reasonable speed, give it a couple of days and you'll be downloading lots, give it a week and you'll be cruising :)

Unfortunately ed2k is an old protocol now, its based around large queues and slow queue rotation. The only reason newer protocols like BT are faster is really that they have the queue rotation handling much, much smaller parts. In addition ed2k other failing is that it does seem like a bottomless whole at first regarind upload to download. This is because people who have it running longer have given a lot more into the network and get it all back.

If you've been running it for days and there's no improvement, then there's most likely a problem.

btw If you cap your upload below 10, your not really going to download full potential.

Aslong as you have a highid, your not capping your upload too low, and your files show blue (darker blue the better) then you should be right to go :)

To ensure you got everything setup right, try this too:

Have a read of those guides and look for another serverlist, as i suspect that is your problem. Once you have another serverlist link, delete all the servers you have and update them.

I take it the 'connect on startup' option is ticked. :wacky:

Also, you might want to try a mod. Regular eMule sure as hell beats eDonkey, but there are some mods that work better.

In my experience, upon fresh install of Emule, you have to give it a day or two to "establish" itself. Make friends with servers, get some credits, blah blah blah.

But after you do that it's cool. Just leave it in your system tray for a day or two.

Don't worry about the 'porn' servers, that's just a server name.

You can still d/l anything on the network from ANY server.

Most peeps connect to Razorback2

Once again, please read FAQs and guidelines, especially those on eMule homepage. They contain answers to most of your questions.
