I did as you advised Spud, but lost the will to live while searching for a link there. Every Pawcio mod seems to have either 4.14 in the title, or mention the Kad network. The closest i could find is "Pawcio 4.11b with 0.30e fix", is this what i'm after?

Right then, here we go! I have successfully imported some of my temp files, have connected to Razorback 2, am dishing some stuff out to other people, but my downloads (1 of which was almost constantly active on ed2000) have found some sources, but sat in waiting mode for the last half hour.

I'm also unsure of what best to put in the connections section. All i can tell you, with my limited knowledge of such matters, is that i have 600k broadband. Any advice is gratefully received.

Will retry on doctor's orders , however, from what I've read, the network shouldn't perform better, you should have identical performance between the two different client blands, except that you are wasting extra bandwidth on kademlia connectivity which means slower browsing

OK, i've copied PCA's settings and am getting an occasional dribble of data coming in. Am uploading at roughly 20kbps, but still only getting a download of 2.5kbps tops (usually 0.5) on a file that i consistently get 5 to 7kbps on ed2000. I've only copied a handful of my partial downloads to emule so far, as i don't have the free HD space to have duplicate copies of everything at the moment. Would i see more of an improvement if i had more files downloading? I'm also confused by the 2 cable options in the connection wizard, as i've said before, all i know is i've got 600k broadband connection. Any ideas how i can improve things people? TIA.

When I do a fresh install, I need maybe a couple of hours for my queue to grow, get some uploads going and then get my downloads going. You need a bit of uploading to build up your credit file i've found

Seems strange that your not getting much download though. My recommendation would be to enable uss, and then set the minimum upload to 11 and drag the slider slightly to the right. Make sure it isn't your upload killing the net.

I've done that already, in keeping with PCA's settings. I've been brave (or stupid), and converted all my ed2000 temps to emule, and on 22 downloads i'm getting between 0 and 2kbps total (mostly zero), and 13.5kbps on 3 uploads. This is after running for an hour or so.

Eagle eater, have you set your max segment size?
If not set that correcty by going to dslreports.com or speedguide.net.

Other than that, it's patience I'm afraid Your speeds should pick up though.

Thanks for your interest guys. I did find that after running emule for about 4 hours last night i started getting a bit of activity, so in blind ignorance of what i was changing, i started making a few tweeks, while keeping an eye on the statistics graph as i went, and this seemed to help considerably. I started hitting up to 40kbps DL. I'm currently getting around 13U and 20D on 20 downloads, which is not too bad. I am liking some of the features on it though, and have already given some HHAH peeps friendslots, your Spudness included.

Just one query i have though, is about what looks like a letter "i", white on a green background, which has appeared next to a couple of my file icons in the transfer window. Any ideas on this?

I just tweeked my download and upload capacities, and tried both options for cable connection. I did find that watching the statistics graph while making adjustments was a massive help. I always thought that graph was an aesthetic on Overnet as i always left those settings on zero (machine limit) LOL.

Of course the acid test comes when i quit and reboot the mule, but so far i'm getting reasonable transfer rates, and am enjoying the new layout and features that Overnet lacked.

FYI I use the eF Mod. Kad helps me because I often have trouble staying connected to servers these days, but Kad stays up all the time.

re-tried, made absolutely no difference except for emule used more bandwidth or the same transfer rate. Back to normal pawcio i go

Never have any server problems with it.
